Beautiful shot. In this case it is less light pollution than enhancement. Was walking on an isolated Australian beach some years ago on a clear moonless night with a friend who grew up in Seoul. I idly commented on the milky way. He looked up, gasped, and admitted he had never seen it. A few minutes later I grabbed him to keep him from walking into the surf as he was trying to walk with his head up.

Thank you! I come across people all the time who admit that they have never seen a clear night sky, much less the Milky Way. I show them some of my shots and they are blown away, and are inspired to find a dark place and have a look.

Excellent. The windmill is a nice touch.

Thank you! I was pretty happy that I found the windmill in the dark! I was driving down a country road that I have never been on before looking for a spot to shoot the MW and almost didn't see it.

Thank you! I'm always on the lookout for windmills! Speaking of West Texas; my favorite place in the world to shoot the night sky is Big Bend National Park!

I decided to try to get some Milky Way shots early Monday morning, but was worried about the light pollution. In this case, I like how it backlit the windmill! Shot with Nikon D750, Nikkor 17-35mm 2.8 @ 17mm, f/4 @20seconds, and ISO 4000.

Very good shot

Excellent, I downloaded and saved your image. We had no viewing opportunity this cycle, only snowy skies.
