Anyone heard anything on the demise of this mag? I got my issue of Shutterbug this morning and the editor's page said they abruptly ceased publication in March. What a shame. Over the years, I have enhanced my photo education through the pages of Popular Photography, Modern Photography and others. Publishing on paper is tough these days.

Shutterbug is still alive. I subscribe to the print magazine too. Popular Photography has stopped publication of the print version. However, I read somewhere, they will have limited information on their website. Don't know how long that will last either? Try the website.

I've heard that the PopPhoto website will be up for awhile, but not updated. YMMV.

April 2017 was their last issue. They are giving subscribers Popular Science for the remainder of our subscriptions. Swell. I would have preferred a refund.

Magazines?
Oh, yeah... now I remember. Those were like websites but printed on paper. Quaint.
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.

Magazines are still used all the time. I use 'em in my Browning Hi-Power! 😀

The P-35 is a very fine weapon and the supreme accomplishment of Mr. Browning's career, even though the design was completed by another I compliment you on your choice. Double stack magazine in auto pistol, GOOD. Double action auto pistol, POO. Yes lurking trolls, I do know that auto pistols are really semi-automatic.

Star Trek anyone? Ferengi Rules of Acquisition #1 "Once you have their money, never give it back."
Sorry if this was only funny to me, but after 34 years working in Air Force acquisitions I just can't leave this stuff alone.

Calling semiautomatic pistols "automatics" is perfectly valid. That's what the were originally called. (.45acp from Colt Automatic Pistol for example.) I have a 1915 dictionary that gives it as a definition for "automatic" So your use of the term is fine.👍 I only go all gun geek over the "clip vs. magazine" argument. 😀

Well, maybe I'll learn something. Do you think the last issue of Pop Photo will become a collectors item? Mine is guaranteed to stay in mint condition. It's digital. 😜

There can only be a clip vs. magazine argument between people who don't know the difference!
