I am trying to reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and when I enter my serial number I get a "the serial number you have entered has been revoked" contact customer service. trying to find a phone number for customer service on their web page is like pulling teeth. Anybody have any ideas ????

Forget calling Adobe, unless you have like 2 days to sit on hold. There is a real time chat function on the adobe.com

Creative Cloud $120/yr. Or put in different terms, the cost of a six pack of a great IPA craft brew every month. CS6 is about to be orphaned anyway.

There was a lot of CS6 disks copied and cracked and sold. If you have one of those, your beat. If you at any time replaced the AMD.DLL file, again your beat. if u dont know what Im talking about there, then thats NOT the problem. You can reach them online, live chat is a lot easier than calling them.

should have said refuse to use the cloud. don't want to just keep shelling out money to adobe. adobe has just become a money pit. And I did buy this from an authorized dealer back in the day. was also installed on windows 10 but i installed an new hard drive with 7 ultimate. I don't understand why adobe can't just renew the serial number to solve this problem

They might, but you need to communicate with them....

Interesting. I remember the AMD.DLL issue, but once I cracked the code everything was smooth. However, my software was legit.

Price wise I think Adobe CC is a fair deal now.

FWIW
I too have a kind of philosophical resistance to "monthly subscriptions" but I gave in and signed up for the Creative Cloud for Photographers some time ago.
I get very P&@@ed off by my cable bill, my cell phone bill, my auto insurance bill and a host of other but......I consider the measly $10/month for Lightroom and Photoshop to be money well spent. A genuine bargain.

And....I'm sure you know this but...."Creative Cloud" is misleading. The software is actually fully installed on your PC and your images are all stored on your PC. Once installed you could disconnect your system from the internet if you want. The only time it needs to be connected is once a month so Adobe can reauthorize use based on whether or not you made your payment.

As Gene51 pointed out you could easily spend more than $10/month on good beer (I do).

mine (CC version) went into a strange state a couple of days ago where it insisted i had a trial version. i found the adobe forum & posted a what's up kind of question. the next morning all worked as paid for. i don't know if it was a server connect glitch on their end or whether their count down software has a bug & my post helped to get me a quick resolution. it's all a big mystery. but as of yesterday, the problem seems to have disappeared.

You have to release the old key to install again.
I had this happen on cc and used live chat. You would need an account which you should already have if
You licensed it before.
If you change video cards or have a hard drive fail and install again it will revoke the key until you tell adobe what happened. I’ve gone down this road because of a change in the hardware on my computer.
In the subscription model the system has to talk to the adobe servers to keep it operating.
If they no longer support cs6 there will no longer be a server to authorize the software.
There are ways around this but I’m not going there.
Good luck.

ah, so this is what happened to my adobe acrobat (standard.) i replaced my travel netbook & tried to install acrobat on it, but couldn't. i have no need for a full feature subscription version so i'm having to make do with a freebie. don't know what i'll do when i replace my working laptop. hope there's a adequate non-adobe pdf editor out there by then! (even on my working computer, i don't use the editing enough for a monthly-charge version.)

My 2-bits worth: I'm with you about the cloud.
One alternative would be Photoshop Elements. Purchase is less than a year's "rental" of CC.
Add to that a plug-in called "Elements + " and you'll have many of the Photoshop possibilities.
Now, if you normally use LightRoom as well, you're out of luck, as that is not included with PSE or Elements+ .

I've been using PSE since version 7, I get the new version every other year. The money I save this way goes for other "needed" items of my choosing.

Isn't that infuriating! If you registered with Adobe, you can go to their site and find your products and key numbers. It's not easy to find, though, and my products are listed in two different areas, for some reason. As rgrenader suggested, do a Chat.

I had a previous version of PS Extended, but at a recent upgrade, I was not able to upgrade to Extended without paying several hundred dollars more. Not nice. As for CC, I'm not giving Adobe any more money. I have LR6 and PS6. When they're no longer usable, I'll get one of the dozen alternatives.
