I have been asked to help sell a Canon Zoom Lens EF 100-400mm 1:4.5-5.6 L IS. I looked online, searching for camera shops that buy used products. Note: I'm not trying to sell the lens in this post. I'm asking for a camera company review.
After an inquiry, Adorama contacted me. Instructions: we send a UPS label. Free shipping. We evaluate your lens and offer you 70% of what it's worth. If you decline, we send it back. Free shipping.
This all sounds good until I searched "Adorama Reviews." Not so good.
Will I get paid? Will I get the lens back? It's not mine. I can't afford to lose it or battle to get it back.
I trust the opinions of Hedgehog members more.
What advice can anyone provide?

Adorama is reputable, they won't rip you off.
Take the ordinary precautions; follow the directions to the letter, get tracking, relax.
KEH is the same, good to deal with. B&H also.
For Craigslist, just make sure whether you are firm on your fair price, or are negotiable. I would set it a little below what they could get on e-bay, just to encourage a sale, but that is my opinion.
If the price is firm, try to work in the price in the email conversations with the potential buyer to give a strong hint that that is the price. I have never had a buyer try to low-ball me right when the deal is supposed to go through in a CL transaction, but that would be irritating.
Years ago, before Craigslist, I had a buyer try to do that when I was selling a car. We drove out to a place between where we lived (and it was a fair distance), and he flashed a role of cash that was $200 short of the deal. Pissed me off.
