My experience with the one metallic print I have is they need to be displayed in good bright light to enjoy the full effect of the reflective metal pigments. In my case, I had to order a LED display light that mounts above (like at museums) to add some light to my image. It's displayed in my poorly lit living room but with the light, it is the first thing guests comment on. They love the 3D effect it seems to have. I bought my 24 x 36 metal print at Nations Photo Lab for $38.00 and was very pleased with them. Fast and professional service.

Thanks to all for relating your experiences/opinions ! I have had the print for about 3 weeks now - and yes, I can see where sharp/detailed subjects render exceedingly well with the ultra gloss surface ( that my print has - they do come in other surfaces though). For now I am going without a frame and trying to adapt to the glossiness - though I will be trying a frame in the near future. I do agree with James56 in that, the best way to curb the reflections off the surface is to have a strong light illuminating just the print and thereby minimizing the reflections of other light sources in the room/display area.
