I have never even seen a metal print in the flesh.

I just ordered one from Fine Art America - 24 inch square - $101 + $24 shipping.

Since I am old school, my initial plan is to flush mount the metal in a wood frame - or - maybe a metal frame - or maybe add a mat - I just do not know at this point till I see how the different options look.

Below is a reduced version of the image I am using ......

I know zip about metal prints except I've seen one and was impressed. I'm just going to hang around and see what happens.

That's a great shot. It will look fantastic on metal.

I have one of a pic I took of a lavender field. Ordered from Mpix and it looks lovely in my bathroom. They are very lightweight, but in my opinion, pricey. Don't know if I'd do it again.

What are the recommendations from Fine Art America? They know their product.

I have seen no "recommendations" so far - except that it is wired for hanging - which to me means it hangs as is - which to me means chincy looking !

Have you considered a glass print? I had one done at Fractureme.com and I think that would look fantastic on that medium as well. Just a thought.

Most of the metal prints I've seen are not matted or framed. Check out Bay Photo and see ALL the different mounts. They really look good just stand alone in my opinion. I've been meaning to have some done just haven't got around to it. Enjoy!

Yes, that is the impression I am getting - will give Bay Photo a look . Someone has eluded to putting clear plexi on the front of the metal - ever heard of that ? .....

I have several metal prints, and none are framed! They are very light, so they are easy to hang, even with velcro! One I have hanging in my cabin is a barn scene, and it is mounted on a piece of red felt, looks very good! The colors of metal prints are very vibrant, landscapes, flowers look very good! Your shot should print very well also! Don't think I would want portraits on metal, as I think they would be too stark! Anxious to hear how you like yours!

Not if the mount is designed to be concealed by the print. It'll just float on the wall.

I took a so-so image and cropped the bejesus out of it so that all that remained was my wife and I with an ivy background. I didn't didn't do the final edits as it's difficult to get anything done without my other half being nearby but overall it came out fine. Your capture is WAY better so I think it would be worth looking into.
