That was somebody's pride and joy once James, be nice to see it preserved, especially with the history that goes with it..nice shots.

Not sure what is actually happening here Doddy. I have a guy checking, but this may be a case of having to clean up the property.
I hope to know in a few days.

Fascinating structure James. I too would love to poke around this place a little. I spotted an old bottle in the rocks-maybe a little moonshine? Thank you for sharing.
I wanted to poke around, but was afraid of getting in trouble for trespassing, so I got these two shots and got out. Sure was an eerie place.

Folks, maybe not what you thought, but I found a great looking haunted house. Well, I don't know if it's haunted or not, but someone took the time to clear away years of brush and growth that surrounded this place. I was quite
shocked driving by, and I drive by a lot...didn't even know there was a house in those woods. The road is only about 40 yards
from the front porch. Seemed like a cool place to photograph, so I did.

That's the kind of place I would dearly love to look inside of.

Nice shots! It will be interesting what the story is about this place. It just looks spooky.

Poor old house looks like it won't have much longer in this world! Very good shots, James!

These are very well done, and in bright light yet! i am so glad you decided not to cook these in HDR.

They are HDR's, I chose that method because of the very dark shadows on the house from the remaining trees. Under normal processing those area's were nearly black and the porch are was difficult to pull out the detail without tons of noise. Trying to adjust for the dark areas, blew out the light wood areas. So, I shot bracketed shots and combined them in PhotoMatrix. I just kept the effect slider set to low. Knowing I would never be here again...I took a lot of different exposure set ups so I'd be sure to have something I could work with in post. Not having RAW, one has to shoot more exposures, but it works.

Well, you did it the was it was meant to be. With my A580 and previous models, one could not use HDR in raw anyway, so you are not missing anything anyway.

Great shots! Those old tumbledowns always attract my lens, too. Think of the stories that are now lost to the mists of time...
