That Rasputin is a flamin' monster, but you have captured him beautifully!!!

Thanks, Sirius_one. A dangerous character for sure, and one doesn't want to take him lightly, even as a leaf. But a good leaf-blower and he'll be on his way to Cleveland!

Thanks for the kind comments and your visit, they're always much appreciated! Have a Happy Halloween!

I suspect that it would be wise to avoid the dark woods this close to Halloween. However, if you do that who will keep us up to date on the latest developments? Your bravery and perseverance are appreciated.

What in the world will I do if this shows up at our door Halloween night!!!
He's down there but could easily come up here.
This is scary and there's no security to combat this.
You're a brave man Randy confronting this creature!

Thanks, Val. But even a single Rasputin is one too many, lol. Still, it would be one interesting tree, wouldn't it? LOL

Thanks for the kind thoughts and visit, they're always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Carol. Those woods are always iffy, but especially around Halloween, one needs to be extra-cautious with characters like this hanging around. Of course, Rasputin wouldn't have stood a chance against the Martian when it comes to being devious. After all, Rasputin was just a mad monk, whereas the Martian is the Minister of Mayhem!

But if I do go into the woods next weekend, you can bet it will be with a leaf-blower in hand! LOL

Thanks for your kind words and visit, they're always much appreciated!

Thanks, Pierre. If this character shows up Trick-or-Treating at your door, after you give him his candy bar, repeat three times the words, "Gort--Klaatu barada nicto." That should fix him! Or at least give you time to run for your leaf-blower, which, if you're smart, you'll keep by the door. Just in case.

LOL

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always enjoy and appreciate them!

When I ponder I get in trouble because my brain is ensconced in jello...( I love using these big words you teach me!! )...remember, many tried to kill Rasputin...( I think for suspected dalliances with their wives or something!! )...and he kept coming back!! Beware my friend!!...good shot of him!

As Halloween approaches, the veil between worlds grows thin, and the whisperings in the forest around the Ministry of Mayhem grow louder. I took a break from mopping the Ministry floors and went into the woods, hoping the solitude might freshen my perspective on things. Finding a dry spot under a large oak, I planted myself to do a little pondering, weak and weary.

While visions of sugarplums danced through my head, a familiar if unwelcome voice from the leaves interrupted my pondering (I wasn't asleep, I was just pondering deeply!!!) and began to nag me. Rasputin, the Mad Monk. Back again. Nuts! I thought the Dark Ladies had banished that pest. Obviously their banishment spell needed a little work, because here he was, bigger than life (okay, maybe a little smaller--he was, after all, ensconced in a leaf), and again insisting the Martian should invade Russia.

Hah, as if! His invasion of Rhode Island a couple of years ago was a fiasco (yes, yes, I know he won, but he had to give it back, didn't he?) Not likely he'd take on Russia.

Or would he?

Thanks, Bob. Nothing wrong with jello--there's always room for it, lol. Rasputin was quite the character. From all accounts, he was filthy, both literally and figuratively, and one has to wonder about the taste of Russian ladies at that point. There's such a thing as carrying 'fashionable' too far, lol. But then, I don't pretend to understood women, Russian or otherwise.

Thanks for your fun comments and visit, they're always much appreciated!

Thanks, Bob. I find there are always 'shady' characters hanging around here in the fall. I just happened to spot 'Rasputin' here a day or two before he fell from the tree, lol. Can't imagine how many other 'visitors' I've missed over the years. So many leaves, so little time... ; )

Thanks for your kind comment and visit, it's always very much appreciated!
