And what to my wondering eyes should appear?? Amazing how can weave Clement's tale into the Dark Side. Love it, Love it, Love it!!!
(Maybe if the Romanov's had some reindeer, they could have escaped.)

Lol, I didn't think anyone had noticed either that or the Poe reference. Good catch, Ray, and glad you enjoyed it. : )

The Romanovs never had a chance, reindeer or no reindeer, and Russia paid dearly for the revolution and murders, just as Rasputin forecast, speaking of his own imminent assassination.

Thanks for stopping by and your very astute observation, it's very much appreciated!

Thanks, James. Just a bit of pre-Halloween fun. You never know who'll pop up in the woods around here at this time of year, as there are often some shady characters hanging around. ; )

Thanks for stopping by and the positive comment, it's always very much appreciated, and glad you enjoyed this one!

LOL! I have to admit I'm not quite as dashing as this character. But maybe if I can grow a long beard, I could pull it off? Sadly, I wasn't given a really cool name by my parents, like Rasputin. Name like Rasputin, Ashurburnipal, or Sennacherib, you know you're going somewhere. People sit up and take notice. Name like Randy? Not so much. Thanks, Mom and Dad. : (

LOL

Thanks, JIm. A good laugh, and I appreciate your visit! Happy Halloween!

There are some amazing thoughts running through your head. Never, ever, talk to the NSA about anything. You'll get locked up. Then Madame P will have to rescue you and that could start another conflict. Thanks for letting me see your great photo.

Thanks, Flyerace. There do appear to be a few loose screws rattling around in my brain, lol. And the NSA doesn't stand a chance, should Madame P and the Martian's Ministry of Mayhem get involved! ; )

Thanks for your very kind words and visit, I always enjoy and appreciate them!

Thanks, Ron. I have a preponderance of the 'Rake me!!!' variety here, too, but the occasion strange face in the crowd does pop up to say hello, lol.

Glad you enjoyed this one, and thanks as always for your visit and fun comments. They're very much appreciated!

As Halloween approaches, the veil between worlds grows thin, and the whisperings in the forest around the Ministry of Mayhem grow louder. I took a break from mopping the Ministry floors and went into the woods, hoping the solitude might freshen my perspective on things. Finding a dry spot under a large oak, I planted myself to do a little pondering, weak and weary.

While visions of sugarplums danced through my head, a familiar if unwelcome voice from the leaves interrupted my pondering (I wasn't asleep, I was just pondering deeply!!!) and began to nag me. Rasputin, the Mad Monk. Back again. Nuts! I thought the Dark Ladies had banished that pest. Obviously their banishment spell needed a little work, because here he was, bigger than life (okay, maybe a little smaller--he was, after all, ensconced in a leaf), and again insisting the Martian should invade Russia.

Hah, as if! His invasion of Rhode Island a couple of years ago was a fiasco (yes, yes, I know he won, but he had to give it back, didn't he?) Not likely he'd take on Russia.

Or would he?

Thanks, Bill. Trying to save on candy money this Halloween, lol. Of course, most of the Trick-or-Treaters run screaming when they see me anyway, even tho I'm much better looking than Rasputin and I don't smell as bad. Possibly it's the long fangs?

LOL

Thanks for stopping by and the smile, always very much appreciated!
