The Osprey had just caught a large salmon and was struggling to hold on to the fish.

I used 560mm. The distance was about 175 to 200 feet. Hand held shot.

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 100-400 II - Canon 1.4x III - 1/320 - f/8 - ISO @ 2000.

Sensational capture, Regis...

I thank you very much, Longshadow. My shutter speed should have been higher to show more detail.

Yes, there would have been less motion blur with a faster shutter speed, but I like it as is. Very nice!

Nothing short of a masterpiece ! Just enough movement to get to get the proper 'feeling'.

I was lucky to get the head in focus because this was a terrific struggle between the bird and the fish.
I thank you very much, hb3.

My shutter speed should have been faster and I am not sure what happened there. Oh well, it still turned
out okay.
I thank you very much, LundyD43, for your good comment.

The Osprey went down into the water 3 times trying to hold on to this oversized fish, but in the end, the osprey won the battle.
I appreciate your great reply, azphotobug.

Another prize winner. I like the motion blur. It accentuates the birds flight. This is one of those times when tack sharpness distracts from the effect.

Love this image. I think the slower shutter speed adds to the drama.
