This is some of the misinformation so prolific on the Internet, started by an amateur political blogger, and then passed on at a logarithmic rate with no attempts to do fact checking. US National Parks are not owned by any foreign countries; NPs are not being held as collateral for any international debt.

The problem NPs face is much the same as when they were first created. We believe it is a good idea to set these special places aside in order to protect them and make their beauty and uniqueness accessible to current and future populations, but how to balance that accessibility so as to prevent overuse so as to not destroy that which we seek to protect is no simple task. Unfortunately, there is no way to limit accessibility so as to exclude those whose would do damage either intentionally or by result of ignorance about how their actions might create lonterm harm. Our only hope can be that as a result of the publicity these recent incidents in Yellowstone have generated that more of the public will become aware of the potential harm their behavior can create and will therefore act thoughtfully if and when they visit these wonderful places in the future.

Thanks to idiots like this, some parks in Canada have closed off sensitive / culturally important areas that are now only accessible via (paid) guided tours. Maybe this is the only approach to protect these areas for future generations? Either this or eliminate the idiots!

Americans Losing Control of U.S. Treasures to United Nations

What do the Statue of Liberty, Independence Hall, Jefferson's Monticello and Yellowstone National Park have in common? Each of these national treasures is regulated according to the dictates of foreign bureaucrats rather than according to the will of the American people.

That's because each of these sites has been designated as a United Nations (U.N.) World Heritage Site. A U.N. World Heritage Site is an internationally protected landmark of cultural, historical or natural significance that the national government promises the U.N. it will protect.1 With the signing of the 1972 World Heritage Treaty, which established the U.N. World Heritage Sites, the United States legally obligated itself to manage our historic national landmarks in compliance with U.N., not U.S., standards.2 The U.S. has also allowed vast amounts of land to become U.N.-designated Biosphere Reserves. A Biosphere Reserve is an area that is set aside specifically for conservation and scientific study which, like a World Heritage Site, the United States promises to manage in accordance with U.N. standards.

Currently, the United States has 20 World Heritage Sites and 47 Biosphere Reserves encompassing 51 million acres - an area nearly the size of Colorado.3 The U.S. is required to regularly report to the U.N. on the status of its World Heritage Sites, specifically its "preservation and protection techniques and its efforts to encourage public awareness about cultural and national heritage."4

What is especially disturbing about U.N. World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve designations are that they can be made by the executive branch unilaterally without congressional approval. Under the terms of the World Heritage Treaty, the President doesn't need to consult anyone before placing U.S. territory under the thumb of the U.N.

While World Heritage Sites, Biosphere Reserves and other U.N. designations don't give the U.N. formal authority to regulate American land, Clinton Administration officials take these designations into account when making land-use decisions. The Administration has used such designations as an excuse to impose new regulations that blatantly restrict the rights of companies and private citizens. A good case in point is the 1995 controversy that erupted over Yellowstone National Park, where the Clinton Administration forced a mining company to abandon a legal mine development project near the park, but on mostly private land. At the request of environmental groups, the Clinton Administration persuaded the U.N. to list Yellowstone as a "World Heritage Site in Danger."5 This special designation gave the Administration an excuse to force the mining company to abandon the project because it allegedly posed a threat to the park.

Further from home, near Kakadu Park in Australia, the same scenario is being played out. The U.N. World Heritage Committee independently commissioned a study of a mine near the park that concluded the mine would threaten the park's environment. The Committee issued a powerful warning that, unless the Australian government could rebut the findings, the U.N. would list the site as "in danger."6 The Australian government objects to the U.N.'s demands that it stop the project but it may succumb to the pressure before the year is out.

It's ironic that the Clinton Administration is insisting that the U.S. adhere to U.N. standards in protecting our national landmarks, given the U.S. relationship with the primary body responsible for administering World Heritage Site programs. For the past several decades, the United States has refused to contribute to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the institutional sponsor of the World Heritage Committee, because the agency has been financially mismanaged and mired in political controversy.7 Yet the Administration believes this same UNESCO is qualified to judge our ability to protect our most prized national treasures.

Congress has become so concerned over the U.N.'s encroachment on national sovereignty that the U.S. House of Representatives just approved a bill that would help Americans reassert their right to determine how U.S. national territory is managed. Called the American Land Sovereignty Protection Act, the legislation would require the executive branch to seek congressional approval before designating any site on American soil as either a World Heritage Site or Biosphere Reserve. The bill has yet to be acted on in the Senate.

As welcome as the American Land Sovereignty Protection Act is, one wonders why the legislation is necessary to protect Congress's authority over U.S. land in the first place. Article IV of the Constitution stipulates that "Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States."

Curbing executive branch regulatory power is long overdue.

In case the American nationals have forgotten.

Across this great land, our national parks, wildlands, forests, and lakes are being turned over to UN control. Joseph Urso, Jr., a friend of the ministry who hails from Knoxville, Tennessee, recently sent me a photograph of the entrance sign of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Notice the telling phrase on the sign: “AN INTERNATIONAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE.”

This means that, under the United Nations Biodiversity Treaty, a precious resource—owned by American citizens for over 200 years—has been turned over to the UN’s bureaucrats for control. Yes, you and I will continue to pay taxes for the maintenance and upkeep of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. But we no longer own it. Now, the UN has ultimate jurisdiction. This alone is startling evidence that the once independent nation-state known as the United States of America is going out with a whimper and not a bang. Our sovereignty is coming to an end.

As a consequence, across the U.S.A., our parks and wilderness areas are slowly being closed to the public. Roads inside the parks are being grazed over. Mountain passes and hiking paths are being blockaded. “No fishing,” “No hunting,” “No trespassing” signs are being erected everywhere on public lands. Entrance fees are being jacked up 100%, even 500% higher, to keep American families out of their own lands.

The UN and its elitist masters don’t want you ontheir property! And in case you do “trespass” and enter forbidden areas of these pristine UN lands, you might just be shot. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agents and park personnel are now taught to love nature’s Mother Earth and to despise and loathe human beings. They are being given firearms and instructed to use them. Meanwhile, foreign immigrants from India, China, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Russia and other nations are being recruited for this national park service police duty because, unlike U.S. nationals, non-English speaking foreigners will not hesitate to carry out orders and shoot American citizen “intruders.”

But even if you are not shot or arrested, there is still a possibility of being bitten—or eaten! As my friend, Joseph Urso, Jr., points out, the feds have been reintroducing vicious wolves into Yellowstone National Park and into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The idea is to put the lives of park visitors in jeopardy and to frighten tourists away.

Environmental groups, of course, are overjoyed that the UN is taking over our parks and forests and putting the screws to the people. Such organizations as the Nature Conservancy and the National Wildlife Federation are funded and controlled by Rockefeller monied interests. The leaders of these organizations hate human beings and believe that the takeover of our parklands and heritage sites by the UN is the paying of homage to their pagan nature goddess, “Mother Earth.”

In protest, I have registered a complaint with U.S. Senator Jesse Helms of North Carolina. Helms, a Republican, is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. As Chairman, he has the power to put a stop to all this nonsense. What’s more, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies partly inside Helm’s home state, North Caro-lina, as well as in neighboring Tennessee.

My answer from Senator Helms came in March when he and his committee warmly embraced and voted for President Clinton’s choice, Madeleine Albright, to become Secretary of State. Albright, a Marxist, is an avid supporter of the UN’s Biodiversity Treaty. She endorses the unconstitutional giving away of American sovereignty over its lands and natural resources.

Some may be surprised that Jesse Helms would commit this act of high treason. They are puzzled that the Senator, who is so warmly supported by the Christian Coalition and other conservative groups, would conspire with Bill Clinton, the UN, and the Illuminati elite to give away our birthright and heritage to New World Order forces.

Ever since Jesse Helms was elevated to the 33° of Freemasonry, bowing his knee before the black stone altar of the false gods Jahbulon, Mahabone, and Abaddon, he has digressed in his strong support of American sovereignty. As happens with all Masons, the occultic, 33° ritual brings on possession of the celebrant by devils.

That’s why the UN is bringing in foreign troops and training them—at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and other military bases—to assault U.S.A. cities and towns. That’s why the Universal Beast 666 Computer Control System, Project L.U.C.I.D., is being implemented. It is why the White House is making a priority the passage by Congress of totalitarian, gun control legislation and supposed “anti-terrorist” acts. It is why our Armed Forces are now earnestly training to quell a domestic insurrection by militias and patriots. The elite know what’s just ahead. The threat is real. If you can open your mind and ears, you would have heard from politicians mouths for decades the forming of a New World Order. And yes, it very much involves photographers since they are slowly cutting access off to us to these parks, so how do you expect to photograph their beauty if not allowed in and access to the areas. Also, your life is in danger when in these parks as more and more people are mysteriously disappearing in the national parks. You are the uninformed; learn what really is going on, not what the mass media is programing you to believe.
