It is interesting to note that whilst there has been a fairly large number of posts and even the suggestion that 'there is a lot of interest' The posts are from very few,if vociferous, people. It is hardly a poll if simply shouting the most: carries the day. Until ADMIN gets a justifiable % of members wanting this; plus a clear definition of how it is going to be run and accessed; it would probably be better to just keep this as an interesting post.
The Administrator wanted this new section. After he heard enough, he implemented it. A few voices, if rational, can sway a like mind. Besides, boudoir photography represents a another legitimate approach to doing photography. End of story.

I too would like to see boudoir and the process from the start, type of equiptment through PP. Sensual and provactive, not trashy or slutty. Leave that to certain magizines and the womens should opinions considered.

I don't understand why you would resurrect this thread. That section has been around awhile, I hear. If you have questions or observations, making them there would make more sense.

I'm sure you'll have way more men interested in this than us ladies. While we are asked to do these shots, usually to keep men out of the mix until the photos are presented to a lucky mate or serious boyfriend, it's really not a subject I want to see much of. We, as women, already know what sexy is and well.... you are going to be making women the subject of most of this photography, right?
But then again, I suppose there would be no complaints from the female half of the forum if I start putting up male boudoir shots, right?? Then you guys might get an idea of what's sexy to us!! So just remember, this boudoir stuff can go both ways!!

I see no problem with pics of men in the boudoir section, with one caveat. No men in womens lingerie.

A while back someone asked me about setting up a boudoir photography section.
Is there much interest in such section at this time?
I'm not sure how many photographers we have here that do boudoir or want to learn about it.
So please let me know what you think.
Good question; I think there is more prurient interest in this section than photographic relevance. At least for me there is.
I like it for that reason, but I don't think it has much photographic significance.

I enjoy looking at a woman's (not men's, though) semi-nude or completely naked body as well as anyone; and, I suspect that most UHH members review this section primarily for prurient reasons. It's why I do.
From an educational photographic perspective, I don't think accomplishes the objective; nor, do I think it's necessary.
If you keep the section, I'll still "Look"; if you remove it, I won't.
Actually, Boudoir photograph is probably not practiced by many of us "regular" photographers. It may be much more highly specialized than most realize. For one thing, the subject, models, cost money. For another, it usually requires body makeup, etc, that we do not usually have to put up with, or have experience with, in our normal photography endeavors. Most models demand quality in the results. It usually requires significant studio equipment and sets, and "on location" pic's are difficult to keep private at the time. etc., if you want to do a good job.
I do appreciate our posters in that section and I think, for the most part, most are seriously trying to avoid the prurient interest only possible aspect of their contributions.

The section appeals to folks who visit for a variety of reasons. There are some really excellent contributions that I truly appreciate looking at, and some that I find far less appealing. Overall I think the content is pretty much self-regulated.
Bud Wahr is a friend of mine, but he said he doesn't have time do modeling.
I have found more women commercially offering boudoir photography than men. Women seem more comfortable in that setting... ???
