This photography addiction is almost as bad as when i was drinking!!

Purchased a Canon 70d in May of this year, I was on the fence whether to make the step up to FF with the Canon 6d......after some consideration went with 70d. I like the 70d but am getting the bug for the 6d or maybe a used 5d or 5d Mkii. At the time I figured have 2 EFS lenses including the great 10-22 UWA and the 18-135, so they'd be no use on an FF. Now with GAS I was considering a 24-105L, but when I started pricing a 6d kit seems to me it's the way to go, the lens nets down to a couple hundred $$ less if the 24-105 was purchased separately.

With that said I thought maybe a trade-in to Adorama ( depending on the offer) would be worth going for the 6d kit with 24-105. Or does it make more sense to just buy a used FF 6d, 5d or 5d mk ii. Then there's rumor of a 6d Mk ii. I may not even take the leap to the 6d but need the UHH members as a sounding board. I shoot mainly landscapes, classic car shows and an occasionaly portrait. I do not shoot action sports.

My next acquisition will be a 5Dmk4, hopefully sometime this next year. Possibly also a 100-400mkII.

Apparently you have a very mild case of GAS. If you had chronic GAS you would not be selling anything. You would keep your old stuff and use it interchangeably with the new stuff.

It would make more sense if you'd just think for yourself!

Adorama is going to give you approximately 40% of the market asking price, if that much.

I guess I'll forget about Adorama!!

I could sell my wife's 2 dogs OUCH, Nah bad idea :)

Yea, I could think for myself, but at least I know 40% value of what I have to trade in would be a no go. I was also hoping someone who shot with a 5d or a 5d markII could give an opinion. There are some real steals on ebay on 5d(s).

Right, you don't want to take that much of a hit. I see nothing wrong with having both formats. You should be able to find a good used or refurbished full frame, and add the lenses one at a time, as GAS accumulates. There is no other known cure!

If money is burning a hole in your pocket, look at a 5DIII. They're selling for less than $2500 this holiday season and used copies are now less than $2000. If you think you want to wait for a new release, just get a used copy of the 24-105L. It will be a great lens with your 70D. You could dump just the 18-135. The 10-22 is your wide angle and the 24-105 is your walk around. All things considered, a better play than dumping the entire EF-S equipment to go with both feet into FF...

For the type of shooting you say you do, if the choice is a 6D, 5D, or 5DII, then I recommend the 6D. True, it's not built quite as robust as the semi-pro 5D and 5DII, but unless you are going to use it as a chock block when not shooting, that's not a factor. It is simply a newer design and one of Canon's best for any low light/high ISO situations you may encounter. It is designed for exactly the type of shooting that you do. The 5DII is still a fine camera, but I'll take the 6D over it any day. If money is a consideration though, the 5DII may be your best choice. The 24-105 L has been around for quite awhile, but is still an excellent lens. I get very good results with mine on my 6D. Never used it for portraits so I can't comment on how it would be for that. If you are going to start out with just one lens, the 24-105 would be a good choice.
There seems to be a very good chance that Canon will introduce a 6DII in 2016, as you have heard. You may want to wait till then, if only because the price of the 6D will probably drop some more.

That's funny. Drinking has no affect on my photography addiction. In fact, I'm pretty certain I buy more stuff when I'm sober. At least, that's what I recall. But maybe drunk me is hiding stuff from sober me? I'm gonna get me a nanny cam.

There is always a market for blood and/or spare body parts. If a person sells part of a liver, it will regenerate providing the opportunity to purchase a new camera every few years. The disadvantage is that drunks like me are not eligible donors.

Mogul, you're probably eligible, you probably just won't regenerate anything, possibly becoming a hardship down the line!!!
