I also have heard nothing but good things about the Pink Jeep tours. If the family likes day hikes, Oak Creek Canyon is great, and there are some very nice canyons just outside of Sedona that are great to spend a few hours hiking into (Boynton Canyon is one). On a short hike you can get away from the crowds and every direction you turn offers a beautiful scene.

Arizona Helicopter Tours 800-282-5141 or 928-282-0904. Need I say more?
Yes I will. This was the highlight of our trip to Sedona. The pilot knows how to get you where the great shot are and it is well worth the price. Look Mom, no doors.

Follow the crowd to the airport in the evening for a view of the sunset.

On Novemember 4 if God allows, I will be heading with my family to Las Vegas and from there to Sedona.
I like to plan ahead and I wonder if anyone that has been there or lives there could give me some advise in regards to things to do and places to photograph.
Any information will be most appreciated.

If you go shopping for earthen ware be sure and look at the bottom as to where it was made. We wanted original Indian made stuff which is what we were told. Do not believe them and turn the pot over and look at the bottom to see where it was made. It said made in China. BTW we did not buy it.

Stop by and say hi to Harry Reid too.

Harry Reid is in Vegas, a bit of a drive and not worth the time or the money.

In a word...'Pink Jeep Tours'

Also on your way from Phoenix to Sedona on Rt 10, I believe, there is a section where you should see a lot of cars parked on the side of the road. Off the road is a river running with washed, polished river bed that make a natural slide. People ride it, FUN. Also there is a rock ledge you can dive off into a natural pool. I did that once.

Interstate 17 or Alt 89 run between Flagstaff and Phoenix.

Interstate 10 runs East to West or West to East depending if you a com-on or go'en

Do you know the name of that area where the river water slide it. Now that you mention it, it is probably 17. It has been a few years. We used to go to Az all the time. Love it there.

To be honest Bobby, I have only been down Int 17, 4 or 5 times, and if you driving the bus I drive you tend stay on the Interstates. Flagstaff is just to much of climb for my load. If I'm not pulling my enclosed trailer, just the coach I'll go that way due to the climbs to get up to Flagstaff. But the park you looking for is:

This might be nicer, The one I am talking about is feet off of RT17. When you come up on it you see all the cars parked on the side of the road. Maybe someone got the bright idea to stop that, open the park and make money on it. when I was there is was FREE but it did create a slight hazard on the road. My dad went down the slide as and feet up in the air out of control, he was upset when he got to the bottom. Was funny, although he did not appreciate it. We were planning on moving there and rented a 38 foot and traveled around Az showing them the sights. His girlfriend at the time, pretty dumb, when we came up on the Grand Canyon, everybody sucked in their breath at the beauty and immenseness. She goes........"It's just a big hole!" Gotta love Greenpoint Brooklyn inhabitants.

Sounds like there were some Indians around. How long ago was the trip out west, if that was Route 17, its now Interstate 17 and you just can't pull over anymore. 75 Mph. and just enough emergency brake down lane. Then a animal control fence - barbed wire to keep the wild life and free range Live stock on the other side.
