very nice photos-but I think this is either a female or young male--the adult male has black wing feathers

Thank you 4ellen4. Definitely not a female. Females of both summer and scarlet tanagers are yellow. I'm still thinking this is a male summer and not a scarlet tanager by the markings and color I see. I'm hoping you are right though, because I've always wanted to see a scarlet tanager.
