Flew also cited the Nobel Prize-winning physiologist George Wald who made the above comment.
Flew was persuaded by the argument that showed the absolute impossibility of producing a Shakespearean sonnet (let alone a living thing) using time and chance.b Flew writes ... its simply absurd to suggest that the more elaborate feat of the origin of life could have been achieved by chance. 78
DNA looked to me like the work of intelligence75
When Flew looked at the extraordinary complexity and subtlety of the workings of DNA, he concluded it looked to me like the work of intelligence. ... What I think the DNA material has done is that it has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinary diverse elements to work together. 75
When Flew mentions the DNA material, he is referring to the massive increase in our knowledge of DNA over the last 50 years."

To say there is a God you must say which one you refer to. Is it your God ID or the God of Abraham? Saying doesn't make so. Therefore I think the title is very, very suspect.
Still out looking for more attention Rac? There were no substantial followers/believers on your previous post. Is that why you are you trying again with your stupidity with this book review with obviously flawed/suspect title?
You fool only yourself Rac.
The Worlds Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind
but, some people on the forum are too stupid to learn.

Flew became a deist.....NOT a theist.
His god chose a hands-off approach.....
Is that the god you worship ?

That's not the point of this post, the point is he rejected atheism and embraced an Intelligent agent, whoever he thinks that is is not important to this point.

So logically we are not supposed to believe that life arose spontaneously by chance but that god did?

The above named person, came to a logical intellectual conclusion. That life is not a happenstance, but of intelligent design. This is not a saving faith, and not much better than none, but it goes to show even logical thinking has to conclude there is a God. To deny it, is just Mule sense (stubbornness).
As far as that goes, man has had many gods, some of wood, some of stone, some of mythology, and others of just plain nonsense. But there is only one true creator God, the God of the Bible, the one Abraham believed in and worshiped. The one who sent his son to die for the sins of man, so he might not suffer eternal torment, for judgment of his sins.
As to where God came from, he didn't. He has always existed from eternity, wrap your small mind around that if you can. As to who he is, when Abraham asked, God's answer was "I am, that I am". So its either by Faith, or not at all. And not all men have faith.

Thanks, Steve. For those who can't grasp the concept of always existing, nor can I and I can't grasp the concept of an infinite universe either. Everything in my life to date has been finite.
