I understand and respect your right to believe as you choose but when conversing with a Christian and knowing what they believe to be the truth, it seems disingenuous to ask a question you already know the answer to. Just to add a bit of controversy that I'm sure will set me on fire, every Christian I know has had confirmation after saying yes to Christ. These confirmations vary with individuals but none the less once you've received confirmation it's next to impossible to deny it and that's one reason it's so very difficult to change a Christian's attitude and it also the reason it's so difficult to offer the experience to anyone else as proof, it's a personal thing that has to happen to the individual. I'd also add that once you've made this commitment and received confirmation the Bible takes on an entirely different look. It's no longer just a book of stories and history the Spirit that you receive with your conversion enables you to grasp meaning and understanding where none existed before. I know this is nonsense to the non believer especially the highly educated because their education has become their pride and joy. One seeks God from the prospective of a child and in submission. Most approach God demanding He do this or that or testing Him by telling Him if He were God He'd do this or that, these tactics simply bring failure.

Pepper, your response is reasonable and honest, and I don't have an argument with you re what you choose to believe.
I do have an argument with someone who makes a veiled threat to me of eternal damnation if I don't agree with him/her.
I think that the ultimate/absolute truth is way beyond our ability to comprehend.

I totally understand as nobody likes to be threatened although I do take exception when someone refers to the Biblical description of hell as a scare tactic. That's just nonsense if one truly believes there is no God why would a scare tactic have any impact. If you were to tell me their was a boogie man under my bed I'd simply smile and move on, I wouldn't even take offense. I'd probably wonder about your stability but I certainly would complain that "scare tactics" were being used even if that was the motivation.

OK, sounds good. Here I go: A mind that is "lost" or "changed" has nothing to do with whether there is or is not a God. And that stands whether the "lost" or "changed" mind belongs to an atheist, Methodist, Democrat, Republican, Christian, Catholic, Boy Scout or whatever.
Rac is a nut and just out for attention. Unfortunately, Rac has no significant numbers of followers/believers. His attempts to distort what is in the rational minds of others using superstition will never fly.
