Looks you're in for some fun this holiday weekend!!

Yup I'm going to my nieces graduation. Taking my new toy with me. Boy it will be nice to travel with a small light weight camera. Also my small tablet for editing and storage. Wow who knew traveling could be so easy.

Well I finally broke down and got a SX50. It's refurbished but Canon is selling them for $179.00. Had to get one. Battery is charging now can't wait to use it.

Happy dance time.

Have a goodtime with your SX50, as we bought 2 for our parents for Christmas this past year. And I like you bought the SX50 refurb from Canon in anticipation of a trip to Disney World later this year. I figured the SX50 would be a lot lighter than carrying around my Canon t3i with lens all over the park.
Good luck and enjoy your new purchase.

I just got the canon e-mail myself yesterday. I've been debating getting a p/s or bridge to take along with me on a 2-week overseas trip next year rather than taking my DSLR kit (or most of it) and saving weight (I can buy more souvenirs and save my neck). Let me know what you think of it. I've seen some good reviews. Also thinking about a Sony. I still have a vast majority of my trip to pay for yet, though so I probably won't get one right away. Not including the airfare it's $2,800! It will be the longest trip by 4 days and by far the most expensive, but going to the Holy Land is on my bucket list.

I will be traveling this weekend and hope to post some pix. But I have to say I wish I had this camera when I went to Italy and Amsterdam last year. Would have saved a lot of weight.

I ordered mine 2 days ago. When I came home today the camera in the box was on my porch. Wow that was fast. Life is good.😜

Thanks to Laura for the Canon link. Ordered my SX 50 two days ago. When I got home today from lunch it was on my front porch. I didn't realize what it was. Thought the wife had ordered something. Wow what service, p.s. Glad the wife was gone getting her hair done.😀😜
