Well I finally broke down and got a SX50. It's refurbished but Canon is selling them for $179.00. Had to get one. Battery is charging now can't wait to use it.

Enjoy, I got one of them for my wife's birthday May 30th. I have it cleverly hidden sitting with all the other boxes for my Canon gear right by my desk. And I am going to endeavor to get her past the point camera, mash button school of photography. I have been preparing lessons to teach her and our special needs boy basic photography.

I have the SX50, and seldom leave home without it. I sold my 18-55 and 70-300 and bought the refurb SX50. It has served me very well along with my T3i and Sigma 150-600 C.
The SX50 is a versatile camera for me, filling the short end and and also if i need longer than 600 i have that too. This camera does a multitude of things that i haven't even began to use yet and is so easy to use when you need a quick shot.
I know you'll enjoy yours as much as i do mine.

Congrats on the SX50!! I just purchased one too but I paid $199. :oops: but no complaints! Have fun!! 8-)

Mines on the way, ordered it yesterday 179.00. Canon said I would have it in 5 days. Yippee life is good !!!😅

Congrats! Manufacturer-refurbished photo equipment is usually a very good deal. I believe the camera will give you years of good service and take many thousands of great photos.

You got a great camera at a sweet price. I bought a SX-510 last years as a backup camera for about $200, I wish the refurbed SX-50 had been available for the viewfinder and the RAW capabilities. I may still do it. Good luck.
