He did explain it to us. Eat Shrimp! It will not harm you. God says you can eat shrimp. Eat and be happy. You can also eat that other white meat.

What's the big deal?

Pedophiles are predators and most are heterosexual.

The vast majority of LBGT, which I am not a member of, are not predators.

Consensual acts are simply that and are no business of any religious bigots nor of any government.

And some Pedophiles are homosexuals and some homosexuals are predators. Some homosexuals have many partners.

The predators are the bad guys.

Who cares how many partners a homosexual has? Not my business.

Who cares how many partners a heterosexual has? Not my business.

Do you think he will use the internet?

If he would show up he might be able to straighten out some of the problems we are having on this planet.

I sometimes wonder if he is too busy creating new universes and has forgotten about this one.

What you eat as well as premarital sex, or extra-marital sex is not tied to a persons salvation. If you are true to your faith then premarital sex, or extra-marital sex is out, of course but what you eat is meaningless. "Consider it a white lie"? You are saying that the Bible is a lie - to me and other Christians you are saying that God lies since the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

The Shrimping Industry in Louisiana monitor the shrimp in the waters off shore to make sure that the shrimp are safe to eat. Shrimp boats can be shut down at any time if the shrimp are harmful for human consumption.

No, don't twist things, a common sense way of protecting the flock and a excellent good reason for being part of a moral religion. A "white" lie is a good thing. Prove god wrote anything... other then someone else said it was so.

All of the things the bible says you can't do, are perfectly safe to do. Unless disease is present, or someone else who takes exception. ie, if you kill someone, you are not immediately struck down by god. If you covet your neighbors wife- it's all good till her husband catches you... It is perfectly "safe" to kill someone. It is perfectly safe to eat shellfish... Pork is "clean", your cheating neighbors willing wife is "safe" to "visit". Morally, and religiously, and in the presence of disease and lawfully- they are not.

So explain why are certain things are itemized in the bible? And please consider when it was written, and how much older some of the "laws" it contains were enacted. . Explain why pork is out, shellfish and premarital or extra marital sex?, we've incorporated many of the previously religious laws into our penal law.

And yes, duh... these "victimless" crimes are considered a sin, along with all the other moral laws- no other animal on earth follows any law- they can steal, kill, have sex with and do whatever they wish. Not following the religious laws then is subject to an age old tradition of a threat from every pulpit there ever was of being held accountable on your day of salvation. In addition, and/or separate, are the penal laws of the state.

I do not believe the bible was written by God. Once again that is a fire and brimstone threat directed by anybody who questions any part of it - like you are doing. As a student of history, there are too many gods for me to nitpick which one is the real one, and too much corruption in every one at one time or another. However, I respect most of some and perhaps at least part of them all, for the moral compass and uplifting positive effect they have on society. And when corrupted and poses a detrimental effect on society, like we see in the middle east, I don't have any problem of waging or labeling it a "religious" war. I don't like islam or mohammed much- they have given me no reason to think otherwise- at any level. I don't like Christianity much as practiced in pre-Columbian America, or in the middle ages.

So I embrace the wisdom of the white lies they do for our own good. And I believe in god... mine is the one that created yours and all the rest- and he ain't on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel- but the metaphor is.

A "white Lie" is a half-true. A half-true is the same as a lie - intent to deceive.

So you do not believe that the Bible IS the Word of God. So what else is new? What you are telling me is that we should live by your morals. Is that a good thing? That is what you mean, isn't it? What is wrong today will be ok tomorrow and what is ok today will be wrong tomorrow. Who decides what is wrong and what is right for the society we live in. Who decides the morals that we live by?

Man's moral laws are ever changing. God's moral laws never change. It does not matter what you and I believe. In the end it will be God who judges.

I bet the coding on his web page would be immaculate, and it would come up first when searching anything! (even before the paid ads on google)

80 to 90% of the shrimp eaten in the US, come from shrimp farms with less than desirable conditions.

Why do you hang out in the Old Testament? Leviticus is for Jews. No, God does not hate shrimp - He is very good to the Louisiana Shrimpers. We can also eat pork... of course, I am not Jewish either, I can eat anything (according to my taste).

Go read the New Testament if you want to read the Bible.

I doubt if Ben Carson would agree with you.

Jade, why do you come up with these stupid comments - what pray tell does Ben Carson have to do with this discussion? Why should I have to ask? You could have followed your comment with the reason why...
