Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Maybe you should migrate to the New Testament where God gives permission to eat anything you want..
Acts 10:9-17

Why do you hang out in the Old Testament? Leviticus is for Jews. No, God does not hate shrimp - He is very good to the Louisiana Shrimpers. We can also eat pork... of course, I am not Jewish either, I can eat anything (according to my taste).

Go read the New Testament if you want to read the Bible.

I think some theologians would disagree with that belief.

"Jesus believed that the Old Testament was divinely inspired, the veritable Word of God. He said, ‘The Scripture cannot be broken’ (John 10:35). He referred to Scripture as ‘the commandment of God’ (Matthew 15:3) and as the ‘Word of God’ (Mark 7:13). He also indicated that it was indestructible: ‘Until Heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the law, until all is accomplished’ (Matthew 5:18).

Examples could be multiplied to demonstrate that Jesus was conversant with the Old Testament and its content. He quoted from it often and he trusted it totally."

Jesus IS the New TESTAMENT. You should study the New TESTAMENT to know what you are talking about. God said that all things clean to eat. Paul said that it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles the body but what comes from the mouth that defiles him.

There are still many things, in the old testament that apply today. Dietary laws excluded.

I wouldn't want to be quoted on this, but God laid many burdens on the Jewish people, because of their disobedience. Perhaps!, this is one of them?.

But on a different note; I am not Jewish, but I hate pig in any form, nothing out of the Ocean except fish is fit to eat, and some fish are not. I don't eat snakes, squirrels, or possum. Dogs cats, or bats, and definitely not rats. In fact I don't care much for cow, and chicken only in moderation. I guess I would be a partial vegetarian. :)

I'm guessing that your third paragraph reflects your personal dietary likes and dislikes rather than any Biblical restriction. As to your first paragraph, however, how does one discern which of the things in the Old Testament apply today?
