Were you trying to make a point by posting all of those pictures? It is ok to eat shrimp. Just don't be a glutton about it. Gluttonous is still a sin. Enjoy! Make sure your shrimp is from Louisiana waters.

So now your approach now is to ask condescending and simpleton questions and give me assignments.

News Flash! I am not your pupil, you are not the headmaster in the country school inside your head and I owe you nothing.

How about if you write an essay on critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning for me to grade.

You have one hour to turn in your Blue Book. Ready? Go!

Remember to properly annotate your sources as I will be taking points away for plagiarism.

My question was not condescending. Simple, yes but not condescending. Apparently you do not know what interpretation means nor the difference between interpretation and translation. It is also apparent that you do not understand the Bible. So I will let you off the hook.

If you can not do as I had requested, why should I abide by your request? I doubt that critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning to be one of your strong points.

For the Shrimp pictures. When one of my Grand-Daughters was about 6 years old, I showed her a picture of Shrimp similar to these.

She screamed "Buggies", and ran away. She is about 24 now, and still to this day will not even come close to a Shrimp. Let alone eat one. :) LOL

Your idiotic question presumes that I do not know the meaning of simple words. That is about as condescending as it can be.

And since you are such a revered Biblical scholar, perhaps you can impress us with a treatise on the role of infanticide in the Old Testament, which is what was under discussion when you went off the rails with your finger wagging.

But be prepared to be challenged because I might surprise you with how much I know about your Holy Book. And responding to a challenge by saying that I don't know anything (the only tool you have, appearntly) is not acceptable-which you would already know if you knew the first thing about critical thinking or evidence based reasoning.

I can hardly wait for your esteemed knowledge to come spilling forth.

I read an article the other day, about critical text translation, and interpretation. They were writing on taking care when translating, and interpretation of translations, to be sure it was correct according to the original writings.

But I am afraid most today consider critical thinking as trying to find fault with both the translation, and interpretation of the text of Scripture.

Even Bible believing Christians can get it wrong at time. I once taught a Bible study class on Luke 2:8-20. I ask the question, how do you think that Shepherds in the field found their way to the place where Jesus was lying in a manger.

Their answer was that they followed the star that was over the stable.

When I told them that there was no star for them to follow, that it was the Three Wise-men that had followed the star, not the shepherds and that Jesus was about two years old when He was visited by the Three Wise-men - they were in shock that I would say such a thing. They insist that I had it wrong.

They had the story right but mixed up in their minds. How often have you seen the Three Wise-men standing with the Shepherds at the manger of Christ in a nativity scene.

Atheist on the other hand have a distorted view of the Bible. This comes mostly from Atheist web sites like where this thread originated from about shrimp.

That's a Christian web site in the same sense that Nidal Hasan was providing psychological services in Ft. Hood.

According to most christians if you believe that Jesus is the son of god; you are a christian. Those baptists seem to believe very strongly.

And your problem with this is what? Are you a Christian? If you aren't a "believer" then what does it matter to you?

Because of hate and violence based on it.

Yes, Christians do believe that Jesus is the Son of God but believing that does not make a person a Christian. You said, "According to most Christians..." Do you mean that some Christians don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
