So, should I get offended when I'm walking down the street and get called "Cracker" because I won't give the black homeless man a cigarette? Should I have him arrested? I find that word offensive. I guess the point to this whole thing is people make racist remarks EVERY DAY. Even against people of their own ethnicity. Whomever posted the video was just trying to stir up s--t. That's a total Sharpton move and it worked. There is a whole psychological chain reaction when it comes to white on black offenses. Why aren't the rappers arrested when they use the "N" word in their music? I just don't get it. Why is that OK Oprah? Please educate this "cracker" on what blacks can call whites and other blacks. Can I have a list? But it's offensive when a white person says ANYTHING stereotypical against ANY ethnicity even in jest or in a joke. When did we all lose our sense of humor?

I rarely use racial epitats.
I have beeen told this by some white cats I know and have met take the C word as a twisted compliment to them.
The connotation behind it " cracking the whip "
Or if say a rapper of the likes of Menem could use it effectively in one of his songs that would be a hoot.
Young rappers need to be more aware of using the N word
the way they do.
You know it depends on who it is time and place etc.
I for one grew up in the 70's watching Sanford n Son All In The Family The Jeffersons etc that was some funny $hit.
In one show they even let Tom drop the N bomb on George
Jefferson.
I hear ya man...............

You've demonstrated numerous times that you have no sense of humor whatsoever.

It just depends on your lot in life. As well as how
you choose to look at things.
If you decide to give power to the negative and be miserable. Or strive to be happy within and affect change
little by little as you journey.
Happy and contentment is a choice. Giving way to
external forces to make you feel a certain way gives power to outside forces. It might be easier said than done but we all have the choice within to strive for it.
No one can make you feel a certain way; its wether we allow it give power to it.
We should all strive to be masters of our feelings.

If you were one of those who were clubbed and beaten in Selma 50 years ago would you find humor in it? The students at Oklahoma weren't just using the N word they were singing about lynching and that no blacks would ever be allowed in there fraternity.

Tom; black forlk are stronger than you give credit for.
Black folk have a strong connection to God where they
gain their strength from. Black folk were able to find some kind of joy in the oppression they faced back in the day.
My father who passed at 92 grew up during the depression
in New Orleans. He dealth with his share of racism but there were good times that he cherished in his life.
I'm not saying it was easy, in fact I refuse to watch movies
such as Selma, I didn't want to go and see the movie 12 Yrs a slave. Why? BECAUSE THE $HIT STILL PISSES ME THE PHUCK OFF!!!!!!!
But its my choice to carry around the anger, or dwell in the now and have peace.
The young men singing a song with the racial slurs imo still should have been left alone. In some form or another their life at school would not have been so nice.
Its all a part of freedom of speech, you may not like what someone says but they have a right to say it. I won't infringe on yours don't infringe on mine.
The saying sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

I'm not suggesting you aren't tough enough to deal with racism. I do think you shouldn't have to. If your cool with being insulted or at least try to make something positive out of it, good for you, I guess. I'm sure there are many who disagree with you and they shouldn't be asked to just get thicker skin. I think applicable laws should be followed but I'm for punishing them as much as the law allows.
And, people are hurt by words, all the time.

I followed the link. I don't see any difference from his typical posts. I still see a very racist agenda. I don't recall him using words like checkmate and Davidheald do. He's more subtle than that (barely). You could look at any one of his posts and not see an agenda. I don't think you can look at several of them, like any 5 or 10 of your choice, and not see an agenda.

My agenda is to speak up for free speech and other good things. Thom's agenda is to slur me, question my motives, and toss as much innuendo as his vocabulary allows.

As to the college incident, it is also interesting to note the hypocrisy and cowardice of college administrators. Even mild criticism of favored minorities is punished severely. However, the admins do nothing about openly-racist minority organizations. For example, La Raza, whose very name is racist, and whose slogan translates to: "Latinos deserve everything; non-Latinos deserve nothing."

Almost everything you post is either about "poor oppressed white people" or something negative about a minority. I'll give you that it isn't always about race. Being the wrong religion works for you also. Your anti vaccine spout was the only exception I can think of. While I think it was mistaken I didn't see anything racist or bigoted in it. That's the only time I'm aware of.

I'm not cool with it.
But people have a right to say what they
want. That is part of freedom of speech.
As far as the members of the fraternity, they would
have had a very uncomfortable time at the University.

Do you feel the National head of the fraternity should have been OK with it? There may be an agreement when signing up at that college about racial slurs. I know how long I would last at my job if I did that. I probably wouldn't be given time to pack my desk.

Also this lil panty waist frat boys.
Could you imagine the fear that would grip them if they should run accross some black athlete built like the hulk.
Or just being ostracized in general. Yeah there would be some who would quietly support them.
But over all their lives at that school would be miserable.

Soba1 is very perceptive and has the acumen (and blessedly not the fancy words) of a Supreme Court justice. Free speech is often offensive to some people. But it is inappropriate to cede to school bureaucrats our rights that are given to us by God and enshrined in the 1st Amendment.
