Every time I turn around I read an article or see a video puting down the F-35, a plane that all the branches of the military are counting on to be their bread and butter for the next generation. If it's not as good as they say why is Israel buying so many of them. Israel is the last country I would expect to be buying worthless military gear.

The F-35 was supposed to be an air superior fighter. It is not. It is gigantic waste of money. The cancelled F-22 Raptor is that fighter. It was cancelled because it was to expensive. So the Pentagon is spending billions to develop (is not operational yet) a much more expensive air frame. Go figure. The F-35 will be obsolete when it enters the fleet. The Russians have a jet that will be far superior to the F-35

They had problems with it, and they are working to solve it . I believe it is only a bad propaganda to knock down this plane . Like you said " I doubt that the Israelis will buy a piece of junk " :lol: :lol:

The only reason that they are buying this jet is that it is better than the F16 not becaause it is an air superior craft.

I've read that the F-35 and F-22 are supposed to work in tandem.

Israel has a history of buying planes and modifying them for their own special needs.

Nothing wrong with the F-35.

All products get slammed...that's just the way of the internet.

"Worthless" is quite a strong word....I didn't see anything in the article to suggest that it was in any way "worthless."

And PS: 110 million for a state of the art fighter?

A bargain any day of the week.

The F35 is about as worthless as the the F14, F15, F16 and the old F4 Phantom which proved that with a big enough engine, even a brick can fly. The F35 is very different with a different overall mission than the F22 (by far the worlds best "fighter" aircraft). The F22 can't do all the things the F35 can do and was never meant to. The F35 will provide much better domain awareness than other aircraft ever built. And don't forget, it's all about the pilots and we have the best trained pilots on the planet.

It is my understanding that they want the F-35 to do everything for everybody at great expense, But it turns out its not doing a lot of things very well for anybody. One Plane cannot do everything.

I have no expertise when it comes to the F-35 vs F-22 Raptor but I can't believe this country would put highly trained pilots in planes that are inferior to Russian aircraft. That is like knowingly sending them to their deaths. It just doesn't seem possible.

I'd like to know the source of your claims here...this isn't even close to the truth.

What are the capabilities of the F-35?

What is the Russian fighter that you are comparing it to?

What are the capabilities of that Russian fighter?

I've been involved in building and designing military aircraft all of my adult life and it just seems to me that this isn't grounded in reality.
