We've had snow, lots of it, falling steady and blowing, for two days.
As it ended the wind also died down and the birds were out again -- an opportunity to take portraits with a clean background.
Here are a few.

About the last -- about 20 minutes after daylight it was shot at ISO 6,400, about 50 feet away.

Please view in download.

Thanks Dave.
Yes. The clean snow makes a nice background, and doesn't need much white balance adjustment.

Pierre
p.s. We're you able to finish your truck project?

We put out peanuts in the shell for the Blue Jays and they oblige us by sitting quietly in the trees waiting for us to come out. Their competition is the squirrels and once in a while the Hairy Woodpeckers.

Thank you Tom for visiting and commenting.

Thank you Doddy.
These guys are not with us quite the status of family pets, but, they are somewhat a menagerie.

Very nice series my friend. I must say even the birds look cold, but I really like the way the snow sets them off and shows off their beautiful colors. The turkey is just amazing with the high ISO - no noise! None that I can see anyway.;-) Well done.

Thanks Vicki.
Fortunately there was almost no cropping needed for the turkey pic so the noise is not huge. Also, all the visual stuff like grass, feathers etc. helps the eye not to notice the noise

I'm really not that brave.
I often shoot out our sunroom windows, that swing open. The temperature inside is well above freezing and there's no ice or snow.
