Hi,
Most homes are wired so if a circuit blows it will not cut power to that one entire room/area. In another room a blown circuit should also not darken the entire room.
You can test the circuit breakers and 'map' the house wiring.

PS: My radial arm saw, in my garage, will blow half the kitchen out. .. keep smiling!
