Well my cartridges are $4.50 each for compatibles and you won't tell the difference in quality

I am seriously considering this printer also to replace my Epson NX110. I've been having trouble with using either off-brand or re-manufactured cartridges. It happened again yesterday with a re-man magenta 80% of the way through the print, not to mention I've always gotten a greenish tint when printing B/W. Wasted a sheet of Ilford Galerie Presige Smooth Gloss paper. Than I put another sheet in my dad's printer and the coloring was way worse. My side table (where I have my current printer) is too small for the Pro-100, but I might be willing to buy new furniture to get the printer...I don't have $$$$ to spend, but I don't want another $30 piece of crap, either.

Ok folks, I just got off of the phone with the sales rep. at B&H and he states to only order the printer for $399.00, they will automatically include the paper so I will have both UPC codes available for the $300.00 rebate.

Then I use "bill me later" feature so not to tie up my credit and get a great wireless printer! I hope this helps someone else out there!

I tried to use bill me later when i bought my new body (A77) but it was too far above my initial credit limit...will try again if (when?) I get this printer b4 next Monday. the only thing I find disappointing about the rebate is that it isn't money, but an American Express gift card. I think I'd rather get an instant rebate or a check...I will still probably get the printer.

IMHO.... Buy the printer, you won't be disappointed. BUT, don't use 3rd party inks, it's not worth the risk! They are generic, not designed specifically for this printer.

B and H price for the printer and paper after rebate is now $139.
Adorama still has it for $99 after rebate - through Sept 31.

According to Red River the cost of printing an 8X10 is 87.5 cents plus paper http://www.redrivercatalog.com/cost-of-inkjet-printing-canon-pro-100.html

Using dye ink does not make it an entry level printer. Calling it entry level, does not seem to be correct. There are many hundreds of reviews from people who give it high marks. Very few have negative comments.

If you use all the disposables and prefer another printer - just sell it or toss it in the trash -but it is 43 lbs. It will have cost nothing.

In regard to color problems - just use Canon paper; not very expensive as printing paper goes - and it is often on sale.

Did they send you a rebate for $369?

I got mine for $89 from adorama. Love it. BTW the rebate was in form of a $300 AMEX debit card accepted almost everywhere.

Grab one if you can.

I haven's read all 4 other pages, but I was wondering about ink, too. A few days ago, I e-mailed Canon about the same issue and they sent me this link (http://www.usa.canon.com/CUSA/assets/app/pdf/PrintYield/PrintYield-PRO-100.pdf). About 5 minutes ago I but the proverbial bullet and ordered a Pro-100 myself. Now I have to buy a new desk and rearrange my furniture so I can find a place for the monstrosity!! Any comments (good or bad) about the printer would be appreciated. I know the ink is going to be a couple bucks more than my Epson all-in-one, but I expect the quality to be multiples better. The free shipping and the $300 AMEX gift card rebate is nice too...someone else said you could call and request a check instead, but it sounded like it might have been a hassle. I've never printed (or had anything printed) as big as 13x19. I wonder if I'll get spoiled after doing so.

Yes, will quickly become spoiled!
You will soon have more prints than you can frame and hang, just about the time you realize how much better the prints will look with different premium silver papers.
It is addictive!
And you are starting off with a $300 credit towards ink and paper (another way to view the discount).

Oh!!! we have another thread going on now regarding the Pro 10 and pro 100 discussion of inks and equipment. The Pro 10 has 10 inks and the pro 100 8. The 100 is pigment, the 10 dye based.
