I bought a new D3200 and a refurb P510, and was unable to download the reference manuals or the ViewNX2 program disks. Also, I was unsure which NX2 belonged with which camera because the programs thereon were different versions.

I called Nikon customer service, and the game commenced.

The rep did not know much of anything about NX2 or reference manuals and had to leave the line repeatedly (probably to ask someone). It finally turned out she did not know if a separate version of NX2 was provided for each camera, and I needed to download both, or if one was a later version and should be the only download. She had no idea what Nikon was asking for when they asked for a number prior to downloading (which I had not seen anywhere in the docs, had never heard of, and did not have) and could not tell me if this impeded the downloads of the manuals and NX software.

After a long absence from the phone, she told me she would immediately email me the appropriate files for download and assured me there would be no problem with download or installation.

It's been more than a week, and nothing has arrived from Nikon.

Does anyone know what's going on with Nikon?
