Great shot, Jeff. The under wing feathers are fantastic. If You click (Store Original) before you attach, we will be able to download and experience a larger image. Would love see that one larger.

Thank you very much, John...

Very nice. You are lucky to have so many bird species in the USA compared to us in NZ

Yes - we have over 550 bird species that travel through Texas during the year. We are very fortunate.

Very cool, jealous of you there. We only get the Ruby-throated hummer here, but we thoroughly enjoy them coming to our feeder from early May to September.

Yes - I was thrilled to see this little guy.

Thanks much!

This fine specimen was hiding in the brush with just enough light for me to photograph it. One of my favorite birds of South Texas.

I knew the name. I didn't want to mention it. Keep it as my secret garden spot. haha
Did I mention we bought three of your books? One for info, one for backup and one for my friend.
Rob D. mentioned your book to me. I won't mention last name.
Do you live in Jackson?

Thanks much for buying three copies - that may be a record!

No, I don’t live in the area ... just have been visiting several times a year for the last decade. It’s one of the truly remarkable places on our lovely planet.

It is an odd place for that type and length of feather.

Agreed. Seemed odd to me as well.

It took me several years to get a decent photo of them. Thanks!

A magnificent, proud bird. Looks like someone tagged him with a dart. Wrong place on body for such a feather.

Not sure why that feather was sticking out...

Beautiful image, Jeff. I wish you had made it downloadable.

Thanks. My photo work is sold exclusively through Getty and one of the conditions is not allowing downloads on public forums.
