Thanks for posting this link, Mark. I’ve seen this before, but it is always nice being reminded of some beautiful photography. I grew up a few short miles from Wyman in Knox County, Texas, and went to school with his sister in grade school. I still see him on occasion when I return home for a visit. His photographs display a unique picture of the animals and landscape that we sometimes take for granted in the Rolling Plains of Texas.
Drag racing a Ford Falcon and a Nash Metropolitan? Anything was possible for a teenager in the mid-60s, especially after a couple of cold ones!
I don't know what the Rambler looks like, but I always refered to my Metropolitan as a pregnant roller skate! I don't remember any issues with shifting gears. My best friend dropped the transmission of his mother's Ford Falcon drag racing me in the Metropolitan. ☹
My first car was a 1959 yellow and white Nash Metro. Drove it the last two years of high school and first two years of college. It was the constant target of mischief, finding it placed expertly on the high school’s front stairway or turned on its side in the college parking lot!
