Very good choices.
For the mammals the D850 should be awesome.

Thank you for your reply. I never thought about noise looking different in different lighting. Interesting. I usually limit my ISO to 1000 and don't like the results over about 620 in the darker pics but I could possibly push it higher in better lighting. Thank you again. I'll play with that today.

check it out and see if u can notice the difference.

Why was the ISO so high in direct sunlight? I'm a noob so just asking. No offense meant. Thank you

Maybe he was in need of a fast shutter speed.

I was looking at the image he suggested and could not figure out why in direct sunlight ISO would be so high. I didn't look at the exif data. I have a D7200 and at 620 I see noise in the camera screen so I know what it looks like on the computer. I am Anal though. 😂

still in reasonable light, with high ISO, noise looks ok. But in cloudy days, in shades noise at same ISO level brings more noise to both DX & FX but in DX its looks more prominent. Just like your D7200.

There are a lot of bird photos and seldom any of the great beasts.
Have fun.

Thanks, looking forward to it.

I love the D750 for landscapes and flowers though- the resolution is great. It's just not the best tool for wildlife and birds in flight.

Yes i also do a few landscapes, planning to get both D500 and a used D750.

I would definitely go with the D750.
Also less likely to have been abused.
Now get it and show us some more great shots like you were showing.
Also the D750 is 7 years newer superior sensor better DR less noise etc.
Again being FF it beats crop with low light every time.

ok thanks.
Will be visiting Mara in January and Indian jungles in April.
Will upload my previous trips pictures soon.

I replaced my D7000 with a D500 because I like to shoot wildlife and have not looked back. Last year I added a D750 to my collection and used it once for wildlife. It was a struggle- not only was the focus slower, the shutter rate was slower and if you are photographing something that moves quickly, the difference between cameras was greatly noticeable. Also with the D500, I can move the focus point anywhere in the screen, but no so with the D750 and I greatly missed that ability as well. You may think you do not need that capability, but once you have it, it is kind of tough not to have.

Yes once you have that, its hard to shift to another camera

It sounds like you are not doing spray and pray motion but more low light images.
You appear to be doing thoughtful shots of beautiful beasts in dim light in their natural habitat.
I would go with the D750 for the cleanest low light images possible.

Yes no spray and pray.
D750 for 715 USD(30k shutter count) vs a really old D3s for 500 USD( maybe past its shutter limit). Which one would you pic ?
