I would agree with Thomas902, 2nd curtain (rear curtain) or whatever Nikon calls it used for fill flash on the people. Hopefully you’re using a tripod,

I’d set exposure for the Christmas lights with flash off, then when that’s correct turn flash on and set to low power and try with rear curtain sync. If flash is too hot use you flash comp to dial it back until it just fills in the people without killing the Christmas lights.

This would probably take me several test shots to set up and I’d personally use a soft box off camera with a radio trigger...

I know I’m late so does anybody know how the photo shoot went? I would not say to pass on it since she isn’t getting paid and it’s just a favor... you learn by doing.

Edited to include this photo I took way too many years ago to count, this was actually a cheap Canon rebel using the pop up flash but I used a long exposure and my son didn't move so it captured him and the lights... I'm pretty sure this is unedited as I didn't even have PS way back then...

I too think the pics are great. I too like to post process photos because somehow I feel “it” makes the pictures better. Sometimes pictures are great as taken straight from the camera. Depends what look you were going for but they are both very nice!

I use at least 2 lights for multiple people (here a 600 ws and speed light). You can see 2 catch lights in the eyes, but I’ve used up to 4 lights (including a hair light) in the past.

It all depends what your end goal is and how fancy you want to be and if you want to light meter all the different lights.....

As somebody else mentioned, keep your camera level and make sure your verticals are vertical.

Again, few are likely to pay you to do all of this. They are going to expect you to shoot a property in 60-90 mins, and shoot as many properties as you can in one day - 5-7 or more - and pay you between $100 and $200 per property. Ron spends 1-2 days shooting, has assistants to help him with gear, a couple of excellent "stagers" to make everything look as perfect as possible for the camera, and could spend another day or more post processing a good set of representative images of a home or property.

More than likely a cellphone would be my choice for most RE.

Typical Cop talk, I do not need to burn down
Anything, you seem to be taking care of your family with no ones help.
Also, try to keep up, you are posting in the Attic, no photography necessary. Always, a couple steps behind.

Just like the left to mislead...🙄

You probably are a liar. You should have worn it before you gave the rest of family c***d. Nice for them to know you only wore it because it was free and work required it. Typical right wing.

Go burn down something... I’m sure you’ll feel better about yourself after.

God help us all if a narrow minded person wins the next e******n. Oh well, at least I won’t need to call 9-1-1 when the left comes for my rights...

You do not know anything about me. There was no life to be concerned about, do not flatter yourself, you already lived so who’s life was I worried about. You are probably lying anyway, I doubt you had on a PPE and are probably lying about having c***d.

Wow, now I’m a liar... another common claim the left goes to. Next I’ll be a r****t.. Listen, this has gotten off the “photography” topic so continue on with your liFe.

PS, my work issued and required PPE to be worn, and I, my wife and my son all had the c****-**. My wife got deathly sick, but my son and I didn’t get symptoms other than previously mentioned.

I still wear my mask and it isn’t to protect myself as I already had the C***d.

Oh BTW that pic from April 18th. It was to show my wife I was being safe. Didn’t matter...

That and in typical cop fashion, you are not smart enough to carry on a 30 second conversation. You caught c****a, good, probably from either fighting with protestors or a pay-by-the-hour date. If you had been smart, you would have worn a mask.

And in typical left fashion you go right for the insults and show your lack of concern for human life.

I wore my PPE, got the c***d and barely had a cough. Yes, all while you got to stay in your safe home.

You are correct! Unfortunately the Biden ones are safe, but the Trump ones always get vandalized or out right stolen. So people don’t put them out, but they still v**e!

According to you Biden would force you to wear a mask and come for your guns. Sounds good, glad we are winning.

Well since I’m a police officer, nobody is taking my guns. And since I’m a police officer I’ve even had the c****a v***s.

I’m the one watching the left try and destroy this Country... top 20 most violent cities in this Country and democrat run. Proof is in the pudding.

I’m done in this thread because you can’t convince the brainwashed...
