Consider the Tamron 150-600 as well. B&H has it for $1069.00.
Granted that's $200.00 more than the Sigma but, you get an extra 100mm worth of zoom for it. And, you don't lose anything in the f stop department.

One of the photographers I know just bought the Tamron 150-600. He's been playing with it and loves this lens, can even take a photo of a frog across a pond. He's going to be photographing polar bears in the artic and that's why he bought this one.

Here is one.

If you google iso, aperture chart several come up.

I have one that was given out in one of my dslr photography classes that I find helpful, when what I am doing is not giving me the desired effect. However it is a pamphlet.

This is the best I've seen for awhile....easy to understand.

Can someone advise me as to what speed memory I need to get the most from my D300?

Thanks

I have a D300S I use a SD Card, Class 10 8GB 24MB/S 163X it works great.

I paid quite a lot for it 3 years ago and worth every penny, I just need more cards like this.

This is a different question, but when you do your back-up catalogs, do you delete your old back-ups?

Asking UH members re thier prefarred means of mounting prints on card. I'm from the film neg' era & am use to using heat/shellac sheets, attempted same with inkjet glossy paper & blistered the print.

I use double sided tape to mount prints on cards.

Are you talking about note cards? If you are, maybe someone out there can help me...what do you charge for a 4x5 print on 5x7 cards? I'm thinking maybe around $2.50 to $3.00??

How do I fix it on the computer, or can I?

It depends on what software you have and if you shot it in raw.

If shot in raw and you have Photoshop you can adjust it easily by clicking on daylight, shadow, etc. Otherwise even using your histogram you should be able to get a balanced color. JPEg a different story, you just have to keep trying to get the right balance in color. Someone here will be able to help you better by step-by-step instructions.

Sounds like a good idea...and I do have a good SLR for film.

The problem is I dont really have the orginals...and my nephew is afraid to mail them...but maybe from a high DPI scan...I'll check into it.

Have him scan the photo's at 600 and e-mail them to you. I have people send me old pictures like this and I redo them for them. Some are not in good shape.

I love my D300S...never have used the video portion. Love the fact that I can do both JP's and Raw at the same time. One thing with a long lens it does get heavy.

Down loaded a light room plugin, and it would not install. Sooo I emailed the vendor and waited and waited and eventually asked him if he was genuine. The reply I got back, suggested that I was a "moron" too stupid to use light room, and did not know how to double click. A copy of his email can be had if you PM me.

Don't know what the plug-in is, but did you look in your download folder? If it's there, double click the name and it should download...you might even have to un-zip the download.
