Thank you for all your thoughtful comments. I must explain that this was an impromptu shoot. We had a very short amount of time, no changing, no hair and make up. It was meant to be a fun time with no expectations. Yes. I captured them both laughing...a lot. Which are some of my favorite images. I agree I could’ve had an overhead light but I was in Pennsylvania and I literally only had my camera. I hung a sheet behind them and lit them with bare bulbs! They chose their poses and I directed them very little. I e framed one shot of them both laughing so hard it makes me smile every time I walk past it.

You might want to research the pricing on this. The Spyder 4 Pro is a discontinued product. Currently, Datacolor is up to Spyder X. You have the monitor calibration model, which is the basic one, compared to their Studio or Capture models, which are much more extensive in calibration photography equipment. For example, the Spyder X Studio can calibrate printers as well as monitors, among other things.

The Spyder X Pro, which is the current version, sells for $170 new.

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

First thought was very creative and professional work and a lovely subject.
Second thought was "what is Infinite Color"
Third thought was what a creative name "OriginalCyn"
Fourth thought was I gotta look at more of her work.
Fifth thought was WOW, best work I've seen on the hog, very professional, creative and artsy. Way above my pay grade to provide CC, other than...WOW.

Well that’s a lot of thoughts lol!! I really appreciate you taking a look. I feel like my work has definitely progressed in the past few years. This was where I first started showing some of my work. I didn’t have the confidence to show real humans in my life so I posted here on the hog. Lately I am more active in my Facebook groups and have done a lot of work that I’m proud of.
Thank you for all the wonderful compliments.

Loving the epic knit hooded cardigan... so seasonally apropos...
As for the iconic pose dynamic, wonderful use of hands to minimize their dominance...
Grasping the collar with both hands as you've done here is SOP in Lookbooks and Catalog...
The low angle of view is an excellent perspective for this editorial narrative...

That said I'm wondering about using a 24-70mm f/2.8 optic on your full frame 5D Mark II. At 70mm your elbows begin to dominate in the foreground... especially the left one which appears brighter than your face in the second iteration ... thus those elbows are somewhat the "hero" of this visual statement...

This narrative begs for at least 200mm or better yet 300mm of lens compression to tame those pesky elbows... In fashion it's about the clothes first, then maybe the talent's face... but certain not elbows or hands unless the hands are used like in ballet as an elegant statement...

As for "color" alteration? If you are trying to make an artistic statement guess it works... However such deviations for reality seldom are used effectively except on exceptional high end work.... and at the direction of the creative and/or art director on the project... Best advice? make your visual statements with compelling composition of superb illumination... that is if you're keen on transitioning to the commercial side of the equation... at least this has been my experience... and yes you can find outrageous color variations in current editions of VOGUE albeit those are primarily editorial "stories" without and a product vendor involved... Look to the advertisements for what works commercially... where attention to detail is paramount... and keeping it "real" is SOP not optional...

Please keep at it... you only grow with practice... there is no quicker way to learn than shooting for a "real" client... here the trauma of failure keenly focuses ones attention... and only through repeated failure does one grow professionally...

My very best wish for your better half's procedure and trust he has a speedy and full recovery...
Again all the best on your epic journey OriginalCyn
Loving the epic knit hooded cardigan... so seasona... (show quote)

Thank you for your thoughtful remarks. I must confess that I am experimenting only and I didn’t have forethought as to what my purpose was other than to create an image that I could play with some colors.
Unfortunately I have a very small studio and I’m sure I couldn’t shoot my 200mm. However, well understood. My fill seems to have been a bit bright, where the elbow seems to overpower.
The cardigan? Yeah...I got that one right😏
