Yeah I reckon the settlement could go for a million, purely for the length of time it's gone on for, and how blatant of an infringement it is. The little man has to have a voice.

Hey, I've actually just written about this on my website, there's a lot more to it than that article lets on. http://www.expertphotography.com/quincy-jones-is-being-sued-for-using-a-photo-of-himself

You have a strange idea of what slander is. Anyone who posts on the internet, anyone who writes a book, anyone who makes a film, anyone who relies on the good opinion of the public for their livelihood has to be open to criticism or they are in the wrong business. I can't believe I'm the first one who hasn't raved over your fine talents.

As someone else who also runs a photography website, I always find it amazing that people actually take time to say something negative, rather than just closing a page and moving on.

I have to disagree, I have Canon L zoom lenses, but my sharpest lens is still the 35mm f/1.4L The larger aperture is also a massive advantage.

I just took some photos of the beautiful Slovenia and put them up to my Facebook page. I'm really pleased with the majority of them, but a few of them are there to serve another purpose, and will feature in future tutorials.

Yeah sorry, don't want to do the dreaded thread hijacking, so I'll be quick. The actual photo is of her reflection, so I'm shooting into the mirror, at her. You can see more of the photos here. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.280105195376371.80519.172424169477808&type=3

So, does that mean if you were shooting through a car window, your camera is going to focus on the glass window directly in front of you and NOT the scene beyond ??

No, because the window is largely transparent, it will have trouble seeing it unless it's dirty. It's much more likely to just pass it and focus on the scene instead. It's all about what the camera can see.

Yeah, it's into the distance. As a little tip, I like to do this with models who are just starting out, because they forget how to pose as soon as they get infront of a camera. Put them in front of a mirror and capture the reflection then you'll get much better results, and people looking at the photo won't even realise it's through a mirror.

Anyone got any tips for shooting in the snow? Don't get a massive amount here in England and I'm off skiing tomorrow so I thought I'd check. I figure I'll need a polarising filter and I may have trouble with white balance, and probably exposure if I shoot in a priority mode, but that's about all I can think of. Anyone got any tips?
