Hello Hedgehoggers, anybody out there with experience with the fuji x-mount 18-135mm lens? I'm considering getting one as a useful travel travel lens but online reviews seem a bit mixed with particular mention of chromatic aberration. Hearing from users with real world experience would be of great assistance. I'd be interested to know which bodies you'd used it on and autofocus performance. Thanks all.

I have five Fuji lenses and an XE-3 body which have all of the firmware updates. I also use Leica lenses on this camera with the Fuji adapter. If you use JPEG I think you will notice hardly any differences in image quality between what you get with the 18-135 and any other of Fuji's excellent lenses. The reviews which criticize the 18-135 all seem to be doing so using raw image results. In JPEG the camera will correct the majority of any aberrations this or any other Fuji lens has. The 18-135 lens is a bit big but it gives great range without having to change and it's weather proof. The alternative is the combination of the 18-55 and the 55-200. Much bulkier, more expensive and not weather proof. On travel I take the 18-55 for inside or crowded and the 18-135 for outside. An XE-3 with firmware updates (important) focuses each of my lenses (23/2, 18-55, 60, 18-135, 55-200) very well (fast/accurate) and do a good job with focus verification with the manual Leica lenses. I suggest you use small zone focusing. Enjoy your travel. Great camera system.
