I was on staff of Longview, WA Daily News and we won the Pulitzer Prize for our coverage of the eruption and aftermath. I fondly remember my time photographing the people and mountain. Where were you on May 18th ? Eugene Louie

Now, I’m retired but love Milky Way night landscapes. The Manzanar Historic Bookstore just accepted a shot I made of the concentration camp’s Guard Tower. This is about 10 minute drive north of Lone Pine, CA. Please call me if anyone would like to go with me to shoot nightscapes. You have to like the Beatles and be able to stay up all night. - Eugene

Minimalism? I love taking Milky Way nightscapes because I can limit the number of lenses I carry. I’d like to ask the forum what focal length range they find most useful. I use a 16-35 Sony GM f/2.8 wide angle zoom, but bought a Sigma 24 mm f/1.4 because it’s a luxury and for making a portrait oriented panoramic this focal length keeps coming out of my bag. Are there specific focal length primes you find indispensable? What do you think about Bartis primes? Are these lenses worth the money?
