Beautiful shot! Live in Los Angeles and dad would take the family up to Yakima where he came from every summer from the time of my birth in 1951, until my last visit in 1962. Just beautiful there and I do remember those electrical storms as well and all the delicious produce especially the world famous apples!

Printed the image on Red River Polar Gloss Metallic Paper to compare it to non-metallic gloss paper and was surprised at the higher brilliance of the image especially on the rings was outstanding. My test was on 4”x6” paper but I can print up to 11”x17” so I know it is going to be a knockout print.

I have the Panasonic DMZ-FZ300 which is still available, got mine on AMAZON two years ago. I have other digital cameras but this is my favorite. From extreme closeups to distant shots, I have no complaints. A few years ago, this was voted best travel bridge camera for its versatility. The image quality is awesome and no problems with the video mode. I have an Epson XP-970 printer and the prints are top notch. I can print up to 11x17” with no image issues. I am very picky with cameras and not afraid to spend good money on great cameras. I have read some very critical opinions with this camera, but as picky as I am, there was no reason for me to send this camera back! My other cameras are fine, but I’m glad Panasonic came out with this model which is also weatherproof. I bought the extended warranty just in case I accidentally damage it because I definitely will buy it again! I’m completely satisfied! Ran into a friend of mine and got to talking about cameras since he is also an avid photographer and he said he was looking for a travel camera, I told him about the FZ300 and he said he also had checked it out. I told him I had bought it and was completely happy with it. That settled it for him, he bought one.

Thank you for your thoughts. I just printed a 8.5x11 and it came out fantastic so I know I can print 11x17 inch print on my Epson printer with no problem.

The original photo was taken inside the Ralph’s market with my LG Premier Pro Plus phone with 13 megapixel camera, no flash. The second photo was obviously edited with PS and Snapseed on my IPad. I always carry two small cameras with me in the car just in case, and this is the surprise I got!

What memories! I bought the Sears KS-2, my first real camera, as we were expecting our first granddaughter in 1980-81.
Soon discovered when looking through a photo magazine that it was actually a Ricoh XR-7 made for the Sears brand. That camera was awesome. As an armature photographer, more than 95% of my shots came out the way I expected, right on the money. That camera finally died in 2001 giving me more than 1,000 excellent photos of my first 3 grandchildren and other photos. I then purchased a Pentax ZX-30 which I still have and takes excellent film shots. My first digital camera was a Pentax KS-1 and since then have had great success with my Nikon and Panasonic digital cameras. Thanks for the memories!!!

Panasonic FZ300 should be enough for beginner. I have this camera and it is great and I’m not a beginner as I have other cameras as well.

I do enjoy color images, black and white can give a different feel for texture and mood depending on the subject of course. That is what I enjoy with flowers, the beauty is always there with a different feel especially when I print on Red River metallic paper, has a beautiful look.

This is one of many old homes you can find in Virginia. This was in Galax, I found while visiting our daughter who had moved there with her very young family from Calif. Photo taken with Ricoh XR-7 set on auto exp. in late September 2001, when we drove from Calif. to Virginia to experience the Fall colors and we were just in awe of the beautiful Fall display in the other east coast states we visited including the wooded areas of New York. Wanted to share this when someone else shared an old barn or home a few days ago.

The Epson XP-970 is great for printing up to 11”X17”. I do both color and bw and delighted with the great quality of my prints. Have always used Epson and never disappointed! Try using Red River photo paper especially the metallic gloss it will give your prints an awesome look.
