I really don't see too much of a difference between the versions ... some what I consider minor additions. V2 seems more like a v1.x update.

Unfortunately even when a parcel is shipped with an adult signature required the delivery person (my experiences with FedEx) will dump and run and input a signature into their little computer. It's happened to me at least twice where they even got my first initial wrong. Called FedEx -- yeah, "we'll look into it and get back to you" .. NOT!

Seems to work well in Edit mode, but it is a tremendous resource hog in browse mode. On my Ryzen 5800X it uses all 8 cores at 4.5 mhz (again, in Browser mode, which I find strange) and ups the CPU voltage close to 1.4 volts, which raises the core temperature to an average of 80c degrees. It must be doing something in the background in browse and "My Catalog" modes which belies what I would consider the static nature of these modes.

Same problems on two relatively hi-powered PCs, one running Windows 10, the other running Windows 11.

I've downloaded a trial version of the latest update and am so far very disappointed with it. On both my PCs, a Ryzen 5800X, 64GB RAM and an AMD RX 6600 GPU and my i7-12700, 32GB RAM and AMD RX6650XT (admittedly not the best GPUs for content creation) RAW 2023 is lethargic to say the least when cataloging folders, selecting images for edit and other operations. It also crashes for no apparent reason from time to time.

I'm wondering if others are experiencing problems with the software.

I'm also not impressed with the tools organization and workflow: switching modes (edit, browse, cataloging, etc.) but I am new to ON1 so that may be more a matter of getting to know the software better. Either way, the workflow is much different then programs like Lightroom, Photoshop and Affinity photo, all which I use almost daily as a real estate and event photographer.

I really want to like the program as it has some features that I think I could use to good effect but I can't justify it as it is.

Agree on how Photomatix Pro is really good at both. I use "The Pro" extensively for my HDR real estate work but I find that the UI is a bit dated, slow and cumbersome when trying to using some of its image enhancement tools. You can't beat it though for its batch processing add on and it works very well as a LR plugin.

Was looking at the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 on B&H but the site says the EF mount is discontinued (not the Nikon though). I called Tamron in NY and the woman was unaware of this and asked me to hold on. When she back on the phone she said indeed it has been discontinued but she didn't know why. I've been trying to get more info as to why without success...does anyone on UHH know why? Seems odd they would discontinue one mount but not the other.

Does anyone know of a free program that will do this?...Julian

Don't know of any freebies but I agree with Elliot re: Affinity Photo. Very good HDR processing plus so much more at only $50.

The problem(s) isn't B&H...I've had several orders where FedEx says the package will be delivered the next day, which it isn't. Also, the value of the purchases are such that a signature is required but the delivery person merely leaves it on my front porch, doesn't even ring the doorbell, and yet the FedEx delivery record shows a signature, with the wrong first name initial. So, like you, I'm tied to the house for two days, waiting for a package that doesn't arrive when it's supposed to, then the next day, after they've adjusted the delivery date when I didn't have to because they can't be bothered to spend the 60 seconds it would take to do what they're supposed to.

I've complained to FedEx, they tell me they'll get back to me after they've "investigated" but they never have. I've asked B&H to use UPS (I find them more dependable, at least where I live) but to no avail.

As someone else here posted, FedEx in my area is handled by a franchisee but that's no excuse for FedEx to ignore complaints. Their name is on the label, so to speak, so they own it.

Correct. Only shutter speed should be adjusted, though sometimes adjusting both shutter speed and ISO can work.

Same here...I shoot real estate and I want to keep the DOF constant, so I use AV mode and let the camera set the shutter speed, adjusting ISO occassionally when the lighting calls for it. I normally use a five exposure bracket.
