The best 70 to 200 hands down is the Tamron. You could spend more but not get a better piece of glass.if budget is a issue buy the lens that is one generation behind the current model

Thank you all for taking the time to say something about Dad. So many spot on replays. From my perspective I look at a man who went from glass plates to digital and still was doing portraits at 93.
He never turned anyone away who knocked on his door or called for help.Dad knew how to be a great teacher and helped a lot of photographers world wide get started.
