Beautiful.
Is it true that controlling the focus on a subject's background is difficult thus necessitating a plain background? I have justed started to try this technique and run into that problem.
My first attempt at focus stacking included a sweep background of suede leather. my subject stacked successfully, but the nap on the suede was inconsistently focused, especially around the edges. It seems that one may need a plain smooth uniform background for small product shots on a sweep. True?
I am intrigued by this Kickstarter product called Arsenal
Great description of tilt mechanics. Thanks much. The links are also appreciated. I have not used photo stacking yet and am looking forward to it.

If your lens is facing downward in the bag and the padding is thin, don't set the bag down too hard or you could crack your front filter .
For jewelry photography, should I use the Canon EF f/2.8 100 mm macro and rely on focus stacking for depth of field or should I drop two grand on the TS-E 90mm tilt shift lens? I'm shooting earingr, rings broaches and necklaces.
