I know that a lot of people use Shutterfly, but I like Walgreens, because you can create the book online and have it printed and pick it up at your local store. You can also do a book at the in-store Walgreens kiosk, but you can't save your work product there. The online tools are better and you can save your work product online and work on it over time. There are often special discounts available throughout the year, if you subscribe to Walgreens Photo on e-mail. You can do detailed montage pages, and "easily" add captions to individual pictures. I did a large 30 page book of my wedding (I didn't take the images) got a 75% discount in early December three years ago. And you can go back and print another book months after you first created the book. Walgreens doesn't usually get the credit they deserve for doing high-quality work on a budget. Simple books are printed in-store.

Office Depot/Office Max has a recycle program that gives credits towards future merchandise purchases. My wife and I have used them for years, and never had a problem with the credits. You should check back with Staples, as I feel their rebate program is similar. You may have had a one-time problem. Call their customer service and they can probably resolve the problem

I am a new relatively new reader on this forum. This is my first post. I recently took an accelerated online photography course to complete graduation requirements at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This 5 1/2 week summer session just skimmed the surface of Lightroom and Photoshop. I had to get a new camera, Canon EOS 4000D, for the course. I might shoot 20 shots to get one. I decided to use the RAW + JPEG storage setting for two reasons: I don't care how much space it takes up on the card. Since I share or print the good images, I find it much easier to quickly view, basic edit and save good JPEGs in Windows Photo. It's much easier for to run through dozens of images in Windows Photo, than to use the cumbersome (for me) Lightroom Catalog process. Also Widows Photo gives an almost full screen view, while that's hard (for me) to do in Lightroom or Photoshop. And when I do need to do some serious editing to an image in LR or PS, I still have the RAW image. So that's why I keep both. Shooting RAW + JPEG works well for me.

I'm paying about $9.50 per month for three years for the Galaxy J7 Aura (2017 model) through US Cellular. I'm also paying $11 a month for insurance, since I live on a remote NC Outer Banks Island, far from any store. That puts the phone's raw cost at $342, just below your $350 limit. The phone has 16MP forward and rear cameras (I seldom use the selfie mode) and takes great pictures, especially low light. My only complaint is that its selective focus can't be overridden and the fact that the screen reflects your face in the glare of the sun, even with an "anti-glare" screen protector. Even if you "pinch zoom" to get tighter, the resultant image is very good. It also has the largest display of any Smartphone I've seen, which is a necessity for my limited vision. Since the phone is always in my pocket, I always have a good camera with me. You can shoot 16:9 and also shoot excellent horizontal video.

There are loads of pictures and video and their Web site: http://www.durangotrain.com/. You can also find some awesome YouTube videos. This trip is a railran and photographer favorite, which has just recovered from from the severe fires from last year, some of which crossed the tracks and closed down the line for a period of time last summer.

As a railfan photographer myself, I envy you. There are great photo ops around every turn and sometimes they may even stop and let you out to shoot the whole train. Make sure you have plenty of memory cards. You will need them. You can also find info at Trains Magazine: trainsmag.com. Enjoy!

I am a new Forum member. I need to purchase a new digital camera. Ordinarily I would think DSLR. I have been using high quality point-and-shoot cameras for a couple of years due to cost considerations. Now I need a "real" camera. The only drawback I see in a DSLR is the sound of the mirror flop, which mirrorless doesn't have. We've all heard the constant rat-a-tat sound of still press photographers shooting countless frames at televised news conferences. This may not be objectional in some circumstances, but can be quite annoying when you shoot in a quiet setting where the sound of the mirror flop would be objectional, or give your presence away if you are trying to shoot without being noticed. Also my limited vision leads me to use the EVF anyway, as I have no vision in my right eye and the optical viewfinder of a DSLR is hard for me to use anyway.
