I have a Canon 60d
My camera is now saving pictures as CR2 File. I was taking some pictures this morning and about mid point it changed from jpeg to CR2. I can only drag these to a Canon program called eos utility. From here I can view them but I dont think I can change them.
When the downloaded on my computer there is no thumbnail view. I know Canon is all apple based and mybe I should take the software off the computer?
I normally open my pictures with Microsoft picture viewer and this is where I can do small amounts of editing. I dont know if they can be converted plus I am not sure how to convert files. I downloaded them all and have them on my computer now so I am going to formatt card. Any help would be great
Thanks
Moray

If you want to open your raw pictures in Microsoft picture viewer, you need to download Microsoft Camera Codec Pack. Check out this link for information

WOW, those are some awesome shots. I like the boats but does it need a bit of straightening??
Coco,
Thanks for looking and commenting. I straightened the one with the boats. I used the grid in the crop tool in Lightroom, aligning the vertical posts on the dock with the vertical lines in the grid on the crop tool. I thought I got them right, but maybe not. Again, thanks for your input.
Those are some great shots. I will have to look up info and techniques for IR. I would like to incorporate this into my photography.
MrBennet,
I like the "milky water", I only drink non fat! Just kidding. I do like the falling water long exposures. I haven't gotten any good ones, guess I need a better ND filter. I really like the night time shots with still water and reflections.
Thanks to all who took the time to view and comment on these pictures. I have learned alot from being on this forum.

all these are awesome, mr. richard!!
Thanks for the comment. I see that you are in San Diego. The last three I took in San Diego. The ones with the pier are at Pacific Beach and the boats are docked adjacent to the Midway.
Here are some of my long exposures.

Can you please let me know the settings of these pictures?. We are going to San Diego in September for a week and I want to try taking pictures like this. Beautiful.
Thanks for the comments. The settings and gear used are as follows.
Canon 60D
#1 50 sec exposure, f/13, ISO 250 Tamron 18-270 @23mm
#2 30 sec exposure, f/11, ISO 160 Sigma 10-20 @ 14mm
#3 30 sec exposure, f/25, ISO 250 Sigma 10-20 @17mm
All were shot in Raw, and processed in Lightroom 4. White balance adjusted in post processing. These settings were trial and error, really didn't know before hand where to start with the settings.
