As promised, or threatened if you like, here is my photo of Spider Rock. The photo was taken with my Canon 5DIII, 17-40 f4, 1/250 @ f11 and 29mm. Comments, please.
Cheers

Of self-confidence, I have plenty --- maybe too much. Most fighter pilots have an abundant supply, even old ones. But when it comes to photography, most of what I take are snapshots. Ratio 10 snaps to 1 photo. I'll put up S. Rock as soon as I have time.
Cheers

I am a well equipped amateur photographer with limited skills. I have been a Canon shooter since 1972, switched to digital about 1996 --- still trying to figure out the menu. My initial 'focus' was on wildlife (f8 and be there) but seven years ago I moved to "Landscapers' Mecca" in southern Utah. (The largest wildlife I have photographed in the last seven years is my 83 lb Lab.) As for landscapes, I have been to Monument Valley at least five times and have yet to take a decent photo --- OK, it's all about the light!
I recently considered entering a photo I took of Spider Rock in Canyon De Chelle, AZ in Outdoor Photographer's annual landscape contest, but checked out the gazillion photos of S. Rock on the web and think mine is hardly exceptional. (As soon as I can figure how to do it I'll put it up for review --- be gentle it's my first time.)
Cheers
