I use it on my 80D and love it. It's my walk-around and go to lense!
I live in New Mexico, you have a long drive from SLC so be careful. My recommendation is to drive from SLC to Moab (cool town) and spend 2 nights. Tour Arches beginning early because it does get hot. You will be able to drive through the park and stop at many of the vistas; easy tour this way. Then head to Cortez (CO) spend 2 nights. Tour Mesa Verde, rest that night and then drive to Taos (just a few hours drive).
I carried a 24-105 lens and it covered nearly everything.
Have fun.
I just returned from a week visiting Arches, Bryce and Zion. I carried my Canon 80D with a 24-105 L f4 lens. Lots of hiking in Arches and Zion so the gear was a bit heavy but manageable. At Bryce you drive to various overlooks and it was easier on this 74 year old body. In Zion you park and use the shuttle to visit various spots; in Arches you can drive your vehicle to various spots and then hike. Each park has its unique beauty. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your info and response. I'm new to ugly hedgehog and am restarting my photography hobby. There is a camera club (Enchanted Lens Camera Club) here in Albuquerque that I am looking forward to joining. New Mexico is a state that offers numerous photographic opportunities.
I received an e-mail from Outdoor Photographer (I am a member) with a link to mpb.com; does any one have experience with mpb?
