I have thousands of slides and negatives. I want the highest resolution to match what's on film. I have not found the solution. Going to a lab is just a huge, massive investment. I've bought all kinds of scanners but have not found the right one, and maybe the right one doesn't exist. I'm keeping my search going!

The picture I'm including here is shot at 75 mph with my left hand on the wheel and in my right hand is a 5D with an extended battery base and a Tokina 100mm macro lens. It takes some practice but, with everything completely manual and a preset focus, it's achievable.

Finally, a Documentary Film that I worked on for the past 7 years was just released. www.thephenomenonfilm.com This is the real McCoy. This documentary is the most credible and accurate examination of the global mystery involving unidentified aerial phenomena. Check it out when you can. Has anyone seen anything moving in the sky that they could not identify? I was the Director of Photography/Cinematographer of this project and as a still photographer as well, I absolutely shot everything I saw around the world on stills when I wasn't shooting video. Sometimes, while I had the main cameras shooting time-lapse I would also be shooting stills.

I am a freelance Director of Photography and in recent times been working for Discovery Channel even more so than in the past. I shoot both Film and Video but film is just hanging on by threads. I actually started with regular 8mm and that quickly turned into super8mm. I was 9 when I started. Did not have a still camera till I was 11. So I've been at it for quite some time now. People recognized that I had that "eye" very early on.
I know I see the world much differently than most and with all my years I know what the camera can see and do at all times. I really do not have to look through the viewfinder anymore, I already have the shot in my head and one day will we just think of the shot and it will be there. I would be a candidate for such advanced technology. I have to say though, I still love looking through the viewfinder. I don't care for electronic screens. After 81 countries and still counting, I still find it exciting in my own backyard. My more future goals are physically having a gallery. My greatest concerns are archiving, storage, backup and organizing everything. Do be too alarmed if I come and go, starting a series next week and 12 hour days six days a week gets to be very draining and sleep is very important.
