With camera manufacturers making better and better point-and-shoots and bridge cameras, and with the quality of images becoming better and better, what can the pros or semi-pros do to differentiate their work from the average guy who can now get a great-looking image from that point-and-shoot or even his cellphone? I've been looking at Canon's GX1 that's coming out very soon and with its larger sensor and other improvements, the sample photos and video I've seen are simply outstanding! What it leads me to believe is that these new cameras might be "good enough" for more and more people to start using for an important event instead of hiring a pro photographer. I guess another way to ask it is, since cameras seem to be getting better and better and even more affordable than ever before, is it possible that the pro photographer might become a dying profession?
