Wow ....great photos and fantastic cars. I also had a PV-544 with the B18 engine but changed out the SU carbs for Webber's SD's and installed a set of headers for a real dual exhaust. It ran great and lasted for years as a daily driver...over 200k miles and then went to a 1975 164E as a replacement. My wife loved this car but I missed the 544. The Ginetta is one of my favorite vehicles of all times only second to the 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. I can not figure out the unidentified car photo.
If any one knows the answer please post it....Thanks! David C.

I have used Fotodiox adaptors with no image issues. The one thing I will note is that some have a set screw to secure the adaptor to the lens. Others did not. My Leice R to Canon adaptor is used often. I also have the Topcon/Exakta to Canon adaptor which works equally well. David C.

Your angle of view was perfect to avoid outside glare and inside reflection. Shooting through a glass medium can be a real challenge. Good job!
Thank you for sharing.

The natural camouflage of the chick against the wood thatched nest and adult owl adds to the image you captured. I like it and thank you for sharing.

Beautiful silhouetted image, considered a nude but actually very modest and well composed.
Thank your for sharing. David C.

Wow! You manage to bring back so many memories of my time in Alaska. I am glad that I went outside and explored rather than sit in the downtown bars and clubs on base like so many of my co-workers did.
Thank you!

PS: During your excursions, did you ever find a lens cover for a 300mm f2.8 Topcor. I am the guy that lost one...haha! Keep them comming your photos are great!

The 1/4x20 screw use on most tripods of today can be adapted to the larger 3/8 x16 which was common in equipment production of years past. One of my brass and wooden tripods and a Field camera, from Germany, had a 3/8 mount. I know of a few old film cameras that had 3/8 mounts, such as, Praktica, Zenit, Federal and Exakta. Going back to my military days, several of the 35mm and 70mm cameras we used in aircraft had this larger mount. The 1/4 to 3/8 adaptor works well and is very inexpensive at about $5.00 or less. Wow is that a Post Versalog slide rule? I have to wonder how many of us grew up using these before calculators became the common tool? Great Photo!

The photo grain will increase along with edge distortion but it would be possible. I tried something simular once with a Topcon RE camera, using a 200mm f5.6 lens coupled with 2 Topcor 2X f4.5 teleconverters. This convinced me to purchase both the 500mm f5.6 and 300mm f2.8 Topcor R series lenses at later dates. I was traveling to Japan often in the 70's and the conversion rates were in my favor for the purchases. This was not the same experience with purchases in Germany, but I still enjoy the German Exakta cameras as much as the Japanese Topcon offerings, in my collection. They share the same lens mount. Saw this in my morning paper and thought the same thing...haha! Funny thing is I just purchased a few items for repair of some photographic equipment and got the evil eye look when I mentioned it...you would think that after 50 years I would get used to it or ignore it....not a chance, it is still a haunting experience every time! This conversation of film vs: digital has been going on for a long time. My stand is..."film is not dead". I enjoy shoot film and using my collection of camera types. They vary from range finders, SLR's to medium and large format of different manufactured brands. I also have and use a few digital cameras. My photo excursions are usually with my grand children, they get to pick a camera, we load it up and then go off to take pictures. One thing I try to make sure they do is document the exposure to include; location, conditions, film and settings. This also carries over to digital as well. The real fun is seeing the developed prints and holding them in hand not on a monitor screen. I think the anticipation os a good part of print photography it is also the best way to evaluate your efforts. I know that digital fans will say they can do the same thing but when you grow up with film there is that tie to the past that is hard to give up and why should we? David C.
