This Nikon D750 camera body has been very carefully used by a hobbyist. It is in excellent plus condition with a Shutter count of only 4407 activations (shutter life expectance is 150,000 actuations). It was purchased new from B & H Photo and is a USA Model. This camera has not been dropped or wet and the back screen has had a protective glass on it since it was new. It comes with the original box, one 64 GB San Disk Extreme Pro (170 MB.s) card ($ 20), new original Nikon Strap, after market Op Tech camera strap ($25), Both Owner’s Manuals, and one Nikon EN-EL15 rechargeable battery ($55). I’m selling this body because I have upgraded to a more advance camera. If interested I will also provide an electronic copy of Thom’s Guide to Nikon D750 (cost $30). Price for camera and extras is $750+shipping and any applicable PP fees. Specifications are shown below. We are retired so we’re available during the day. Wanted to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge of flashes for bird photography. Make me feel better to know that I'm not the only one trying to becone more knowledgable on using a fill flash for wildlife. Larry, I have sent a PM requesting your article, however if that PM didn't arrive, my email address is: gilm2619@bellsouth.net

I have been researching the different models of Nikon Speedlights. Which model is best for use as a fill flash ( using a Beter Beamer) for bird and wildlife photography? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Below is a rater's comment from B & H. I have found similiar comments from other sites.

"...The threaded tripod mounting hole is recessed too far in gimbal head. I have a Manfrotto 055CX tripod (that does not allow the mounting screw to be adjusted). The Head mounting screw extends about inch above the tripod and is adequate to securely mount other heads I have and do use such as Manfrotto ball heads, Sirui ball heads, borrowed wimberly gimbal heads, and my nodal ninja head. All these heads mount with 2-3 full turns of the head engaging the tripod screw threads. However with the Benro GH5C it falls onto the tripod almost flat to the mounting plate and I am only able to get about a turn before it is locked down. Seems secure and I played around with it a bit in my living room this way, but I am not confident it is securely mounted. At best it is probably only grabbing about 1 thread on the screw. I had nightmares of my camera and lens along with the gimbal head popping off as I am walking across a parking lot....just don't want to take a chance so returning this head. Since INHO this makes the head unusable I am only giving it 2 stars. Maybe it's my tripod that's the problem here but I don't think so as all the other heads mount just fine and 1/2 inch of exposed screw should be ample to mount the head."

Does anyone know if Benro has modified the above Gimbal or developed a kit to address the screw problem in the above Gimbal Head? If they have modified the Gimbal, how can one tell the old style Gimbal from the modified ones?
Thanks!

We have photographed the bears at Silver Salmon Lodge. There you will be, for the most part, relatively close to the bears ( As I remember from 15 yards-100 yards; yes, 15 yds. is correct); in fact we had one mother bear walked past us within 15 feet of our group. Guides take you out using a small tram so you see bears 2 or 3 times each day. You photograph the bears on the mud flats(digging clams) at low tide or in the very large meadows, next to the mud flats(500-800 yards wide), of Sedge Grass while the Grizzles are grazing (adults eat about 50 lb./day). The guides do Not let you go into the woods beyond the Sedge meadows because of risk issues of mother bears with cubs. A few suggestions: 1. Get trip insurance! The weather( for flying which is the only way into or out of Silver Salmon) can really change in a hurry, preventing your arrival on time or departure on time. 2. Take raingear for you and your equipment; the lodge provided boots and some rain gear when we were there. 3. Don't overlook the Eagles. Some really nice photo ops of them.
We had a great time during our visit. The Lodge and cabins are very nice and the Lodge has has great food. Hope you have a great trip!
