With my fz300 I am wondering why it is recommended to disable the vr function when using a tripod. Want to take some shots of the upcoming full moon and will be using a new tripod. Information appreciated.

Retired and 76 and a photo novice at best. I use a Nikon D7000 with a 18-300 zoom and love it. It IS heavy but does a great job. When I go walking about woods or whatever I take my FZ300 and have a great time with it, not only photos but dont forget it shoots 4k video also. $400 bucks I dont think you can go wrong. If you do buy it and get some shooting done let me know please your opinion and have a great day.

Any opinions on what might be a good remote control for my FZ300 bridge camera? As you might guess shooting at 600mm zoom requires a tripod and I would like to have a remote for it, information would be appreciated..

I have a dslr nikon d7000 and love it however with a 18-300 lens I found it a bit much to drag about the forest and trails so I took a risk and bought my first bridge camera and find it really quite good. Now lets be clear, I am not doing a promo for Lumix and I do find a few things I would like different but all in all its quite useful at least for me. Interested in other opinions on this or for that matter any other bridge type camera users. Im new to this site and hope to learn from others.
